Last week was half term. We had some amazing weather, which we  thoroughly enjoyed! The sun was shining and it was quite hot, I'm not a huge fan of really hot weather so finding some shade seemed like a good idea to me! We went for a lovely picnic to a fairly local park with plenty of shade but also lots of sunshine, too! The kids enjoyed playing in the sun (they were smothered in sun screen) whilst I sat in the sun and watched!


We packed egg and ham sandwiches, mini sausages, scotch eggs sausage rolls, cakes, cookies and some fruit etc! We spent a couple of hours at the park eating and playing and just chatting, enjoying the weather before walking along the river to get a well needed ice cream!
(My memory card has literally just broke on me, and I can't retrieve the photos NOOOOO!!! - along with many others - so I'll have to just post the photos I took on my phone. I'm trying to figure it out. WHY didn't I back them up straight away?!)








We're hoping to get out for an after school picnic sometime this week, we'll see how the weather goes though! Not long until the summer holidays, who's excited?! We are!!

It's finally half term, a very welcome break from the school routine. Ellie was lucky and had a non pupil day. The boys were a little bit disappointed because they didn't have a non pupil day (They had there non pupil day last term when Ellie didn't). We decided to make the most of the weather because here in the U.K we're never sure how long the warm, sunny weather will last! So we went for a lovely walk down the lane and a long the river. We ate our lunch a long the river and I treated Ellie to a 'Monster Chocolate Cookie' which she thoroughly enjoyed.


We saw all kinds of wildlife, cows, squirrels, chickens and horses, swans and ducks. (I didn't manage to snap pics of all the animals we spotted).








I'm not a huge fan of very hot weather but there was a lovely breeze and plenty of shade along the river, which was more than welcome!


We had a fantastic time! This week coming up, we'll be sure to have lots of fun in the sun (hopefully there will be some sun!) with the boys,  too!

It's almost 9pm on Tuesday night and I have literally just sat down. I have been SO busy today! I'm tired, its been a long day. Anyway, it's the time of the week again - The weekly bits and bobs. Here are our best & worst moments from the past week.

Negatives:

• I've been feeling anxious (what's new?!) and stressed (again, what's new?!) on and off. I think because I have hospital appointments coming up, Charlie starting high school, trying to sort out school bus passes, other school and kid stuff. It feels like it's all getting on top of me. 
• Lack of sleep is another negative this week. I don't know why I struggle to sleep, I wish I could sleep solid for more than 2 hours! 
•  I've not been feeling too well the last week or so, I don't know if it's a cold or sinus thing - Both?! I do feel much better today though! 

Positives: 

• We had a fab day last Thursday! We went over to my grandparents and used there swimming pool (they live on a country park and have shared pool which family are allowed to use! It's awesome. And FREE!) The kids had a wonderful time! Charlie can actually swim, I am SO proud of him. It was lovely watching him trying to teach Ellie. Love those precious moments, they truly make me smile. 
• The boys school uniform is DONE! Woohoo. I just need to buy Ellie's now, she doesn't need much as most of hers still fits (I only purchased it in June as hers was getting a bit too small) 
• I've started being more organised with my planning. My new organiser from paperchase really helps me! I love it. I love it A LOT! I'm also enjoying lists and bullet journaling. 
• We had a lovely day today. The kids and I went grocery shopping (which honestly I always dread) which was surprisingly alright. It was busy but was nice to get out of the house. The kids enjoyed a bus ride and I read some of my book. I'm currently reading the book thief. I loved the movie but I think I need to watch it again after I've read the book. Yay!

• I've cleaned and organised my house yesterday and this afternoon! I'm going to do some more tomorrow. I'm trying extra hard to keep on top of everything! 

Things I'm looking forward to: 

• A picnic tomorrow (Fingers crossed the weather stays nice!) my little nephew is coming along with us. He's only five, I am looking forward to our picnic! As are the kids. 
• Seeing my fella. Long distance is hard but I'll make the most of the time we do have together! 
• I need to organise my airing cupboard... I still haven't done it! I was suppose to do that last week. I have done a lot of other chores though, so it's all good. 
• I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

So there's our week in a nutshell! It's been a fairly good week. I need to relax more though and try and get a good nights sleep! I also would like to make more time to read as I've been slacking and reading really helps me relax :)
How has your week been?

We have been blessed with some beautiful weather lately and we thought we'd make the absolute most of it! With there being no school, it's hard to keep the kids entertained. So I thought we'd kill two birds with one stone. I had promised the kids we'd get an ice cream and go for a walk and Pokemon hunting. So that's what we did and whilst we were by the barbers, I got the boys a quick, much needed(!!) hair cut.
We had a lovely walk and found some Pokemons along the way :) If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you'll know that we love PokemonGO hunting! We actually ended up walking five miles on this particular day - accidentally. The kids absolutely love walking and being out in the fresh air, I didn't realise we had walked so much until we got home and checked my step counting app!

We have lots to do this month from our August Bucket List. I hope the weather stays nice.
How have you been enjoying the weather recently? :)

I knew that July was going to be a busy month, with it being the end of term - Charlie had induction days at high school as he's due to start in September. Harry will be starting in year 8 and Ellie in year 4. We slowly worked through our July bucket list and I think we managed to achieve a fair bit!  The month started off with sports day and induction days. Charlie thoroughly enjoyed his induction days. He confidently caught the bus to and from school. I am so proud of him! I also went into the primary school and had an open afternoon with Charlie & Ellie, which was a lot of fun.

Charlie also turned eleven years old in July! Still can't believe he's eleven! Wow.


We also explored our local area, living in the countryside means there's a lot of exploring to do and adventures to be had. We've found some really beautiful picnic spots.



PokemonGO came out! What an epic game and app that is! It got us out walking more and exploring some more, too!


Spotting some wildlife was also on our July bucket list. We did spot some cows! We also had a hedgehog in our back garden (which may have been the end of June, I can't quite remember). There was also a deer in the field at the back of our house! We've spotted pheasants, birds, baby swans and lots of other wildlife, too!


I went to Charlie's year six leavers assembly which was held in our local church. I may have cried. A LOT! I can't believe he's going to be going to high school in September. Craziness. He was presented with a lovely bible, dictionary and leavers book - The leavers book was for all his friends and teachers to sign. A truly lovely keepsake.

We had a picnic at the school on the last day of term, which was so much fun! Ellie was telling me all about year 4 and how excited she is to start in a new class!
Another task on our bucket list was to have ice creams along the river. We did this on the way back from having the boys hair cuts! Well, the kids choose a lolly instead of an ice cream. We walked a total of FIVE MILES that day! It was a beautiful day and we may have caught a few Pokemons... haha.

I had put it in my head that I wanted to loose at least 3lbs in July. I did that. I actually lost around 9lbs. WOW! I'm sure the Pokemon hunting has helped with that, haha. I also managed to read five books in July, which I wrote about on my book blog. (A couple of those were short books, but it still counts!!)

There were some stressful moments in July. Which I wrote about but I won't go into again! I'm focusing on the positives. :)

How was your July? What are your best bits?

Living in the countryside means we have lots of places to explore, beautiful places at that! The weather hasn't been great so far this summer so when it IS sunny (rare!) we always try to make the most of it. One day after school, we went for a lovely walk, exploring our area and there were so many pretty views.







We did actually sport what we think, was a baby deer but it was too fast for us to get close enough to have a proper look! I actually saw a deer right by our back fence a few weeks ago.


We could see right over the river as it was so clear and warm. We had a wonderful walk, I hope we have more sunny days, we'd quite like to go on a picnic on top of the hills!
