On Good Friday, with there being no school and the start of the half term, we decided to make the most of the sunny weather and go for a nice walk along the river bank! It's one of favourite places to go for a walk as there is so much to see. It's even better when the weather is mild and sunny! For the first time this year we didn't even need to wear our coats. It was lush.




There's plenty of ducks, swans and geese to be spotted as well as signs of spring. The flowers are starting to bloom! It's such a beautiful time of the year. The kids had a blast feeding the ducks, swans and geese and I had a great time taking photos! Which are slowly improving as I get use to using my bigger camera.




We spotted some old boats, which the kids were fascinated with!  When I was little we use to climb in an old boat (I'm not sure if it was this one) but we can't do that any more as the marsh land os very waterlogged! And it actually would be quite dangerous to do that now but still, I enjoyed sharing my memories with my own children! Charlie was truly fascinated and wondered how old the boat actually was!





Hopefully our sunny spring weather comes back throughout the half term so we can go on more adventures!

We were sent some Easter arts and craft kits from Baker Ross to review. My children love arts and crafts, especially my daughter Ellie. She was super excited to make some Easter and spring themed arts and crafts!


The mix and match Easter bunny kits caught Ellie's eye so we made those first! "I love bunnies, especially baby bunnies at Easter" Ellie said!

Each pack contains eight foam bunnies, ribbons and all the self adhesive stickers/decorations (clothes, hats, shoes etc) to decorate your bunny with! No glue is required because the foam stickers are self adhesive, the back just peels off each decoration so that it's easy to stick onto the bunny shape.

The bunnies themselves are 13cm x 9cm in size and are perfect Easter decorations! Ellie really enjoyed decorating her bunnies and choosing which clothes, shoes and accessories each bunny would wear. "The bow ties are for the boy bunnies and the hats are going to be for the girl bunnies" Ellie told me. She wanted her bunnies to have matching shoes and clothes!
She told me that she really loved the little Easter egg that the bunnies hold in there hands "They're soooooo cuttteeeeee" were her exact words!


We hang some on the kitchen cupboard door handles. My kitchen is decorated lovely for Easter! I love showing off the children's crafts and displaying them around the house and the Easter mix and match bunnies are perfect!
 The bunnies are also self adhesive and can be used to stick on cards or paper, even making an Easter picture perhaps? Ellie stuck one of her bunnies on front of a card and made her own Easter card ready to give to Nanna for Easter! Bless.

Priced at just £3.75 for a pack of eight, I'd say they're well worth the money. Ellie really liked the fact she could mix and match and make her bunnies exactly how she wanted them. She loved the fact you can not only hang them up but they stick onto cards, too! The mix and match bunnies are suitable for all ages (Ha I'm 31 and I still enjoyed making these too - big kid that I am!) and perfect for spring and Easter :)


Next we made Easter gift boxes! Now these are super, super cute!


 Each Easter colour-in gift boxes contain 4 assorted designs (2 of each).. Bunnies, chicks, daffodil and Easter eggs! They have spring theme pictures on them. You will need some cellotape or sticky dots to secure the boxes (not included) and the each box is 7cm x 7cm x 13cm. There is a spring/Easter design on each side of the box. We used marker pens to decorate our boxes but you can use deco pens which can also be purchased from Baker Ross.

Ellie chose the Easter Chick design and Charlie chose the daffodil design! They used marker pens to colour there boxes in!


Charlie and Ellie agreed these boxes would be perfect to fill with sweet and chocolate treats for Easter! "You could also give them out at a party" Ellie suggested. "Or Easter egg hunt prizes" Charlie also suggested! Both great suggestions!

 The boxes fold into a box shape nice and easily and the top of the boxes also fold. We folded the chick (and daffodil) through the slot. The children needed a little bit of help with this but once I demonstrated how to do it, they could do it on there own!



These Easter colour in gift boxes are priced at £2.75 for a pack of 8. They are suitable for all ages and they are the perfect Easter arts and craft project for kids. They'd make a lovely gift, especially filled with chocolate eggs!

Baker Ross sent us this lovely Easter Dotty Sticker Art to review.
The kit includes eight A4 picture designs including Easter egg, duck, lamb, chicks and bunny. The kit also includes sixteen sheets of dotty stickers in 6 assorted colours - green. yellow, pink, orange, blue and purple.


These Easter dotty pictures are super fun to do and Ellie couldn't wait to start her picture! "This is so much fun" she told me. She choose the Easter egg design first.

She also pointed out that its actually harder than it looks but it's still fun. She took her time placing each dot neatly around the picture and decoded to do her sticky dots in a pattern! It took her about fifteen minues to complete the first picture and when she had completed it she was very proud of herself!
We then decided to were going to create the chick picture! "Chicks are so cute, they remind me of Easter!" Ellie choose to stick the yellow, orange and green dots on her chick picture! Bless her.
The stickers peel off very easily and stick onto the paper perfectly, they also fit the dots perfectly, too! 
Ellie really enjoyed making these pictures, they are great fun, easy to do and they look great - especially on my fridge! We really liked the fact that they're quite unique. A pack of eight costs £3.99. I personally think they are great value for money. They'd also make a great gift and perfect for this time of year.

Baker Ross sent us some Easter arts & crafts to try and review. Ellie & Charlie decided on making Easter baskets first. They loves arts and crafts very much and we do a lot of craft projects after school and weekends, she couldn't wait to get stuck into these Spring Basket Kits.


The spring basket kits come in a pack of eight and each kit contains 4 assorted colours. Each kit contains the card basket template, card handle and the splint metal pins. The instruction sheet is also included.


First of all they picked the colour they wanted and then we folded the basket template over and threaded the the card tag through each slit in the basket.
"It's really looking like a proper basket now" Ellie said proudly. Charlie whizzed through his basket, haha.


This was quite easy once Ellie got the hang of it, she needed very little help from me! Next up it was time to attatch the handle to the basket using the metal split pin, I helped Ellie with this part. Charlie managed this part on his own as he is older.


We then used some 'Easter Grass' to fill the basket with. Easter grass is shredded tissue paper and is perfect for Easter baskets! It is priced at £2.45 per pack and there are four colours per pack.

Baker Ross also sent us a pack of mini glitter eggs (£1.49 for a pack of 100). We put these inside the basket. "These little eggs are so cute and SOOOOOO pretty" Ellie said excitedly.

"It looks like a little birds nest" She told me. Aww. The eggs themselves are 15mm x 18mm and are very sparkly. They are perfect for Easter or spring displays and could also be glued onto cards and pictures (using PVA glue).


Ellie said it would be fun to add some chocolate eggs to her basket, which is what we did! We used up some of the little fluffy chicks we bought last year (Baker Ross also sell these on there website along with mini chocolate eggs) and made a little display which Ellie thought was great fun!

Over all we really enjoyed making these Easter baskets. They're perfect for spring and Easter and they're also perfect for an Easter egg hunt.


Baker Ross have a very wide range of Spring and Easter arts and crafts products for children, all very reasonably priced. I can not recommend Baker Ross enough for children art supplies, they have such a huge selection!
