Last week was half term. We had some amazing weather, which we  thoroughly enjoyed! The sun was shining and it was quite hot, I'm not a huge fan of really hot weather so finding some shade seemed like a good idea to me! We went for a lovely picnic to a fairly local park with plenty of shade but also lots of sunshine, too! The kids enjoyed playing in the sun (they were smothered in sun screen) whilst I sat in the sun and watched!


We packed egg and ham sandwiches, mini sausages, scotch eggs sausage rolls, cakes, cookies and some fruit etc! We spent a couple of hours at the park eating and playing and just chatting, enjoying the weather before walking along the river to get a well needed ice cream!
(My memory card has literally just broke on me, and I can't retrieve the photos NOOOOO!!! - along with many others - so I'll have to just post the photos I took on my phone. I'm trying to figure it out. WHY didn't I back them up straight away?!)








We're hoping to get out for an after school picnic sometime this week, we'll see how the weather goes though! Not long until the summer holidays, who's excited?! We are!!

The other day, the boys had a dentist appointment in town - Impressions/molds, xrays and photos of there teeth ready for braces in a couple of months. They did SO well. Whilst we were in town, we decided to visit castle park, which is a huge Roman castle with a massive play area which has recently just been re-done and it's 'EPIC' (Charlie's words!)
 Castle park is always beautiful but during the Spring time, the flowers are all in bloom and they're so pretty! They also smell AMAZING! (So glad I took a hayfever tablet before we left)

It's finally half term and it's more than welcome in our house! Having a break from the school routine does everyone the world of good! While the weather was nice we decided to take a trip to the park, it was a gorgeous day, the sun was shinning and it was 7 degrees which is quite shocking considering the day before it was snowing! Having a crisp sunny day reminded us of spring... Which isn't very far away at all and we can not wait.




Charlie took his scooter to the park as there is a ramp there which scooters can be used on! Harry took his bike and Ellie decided she was going to walk with me. The boys also took a football, too! They love playing football and while the weather was nice, they decided to make the most of it.
We had a go on the play area, by 'we' I mean the kids... Although I may or may not have had a go on the swings (Such a good leg workout, haha). We also had a walk around the edge of the woods and the kids had a go on some of the fitness trail equipment, I decided to give that a miss though, haha. And of course, the boys had a good kick around with the football, hehe.
It was quite mild in the sunshine, Harry even got too hot wearing his jacket whilst running around! Spring isn't very far away.. YAY!








We had a really lovely time at the park before heading home for lunch! We are hoping to make another trip to the park and perhaps venture in the woods this week! We hope you're enjoying half term so far, too!

Gosh, half way through half term already! Where does the time go? The days seem long and yet when I look back, time has flown by. I know that makes no sense but it's true.
Anyway, here are this weeks best and worst moments & things to look forward to.


Negatives: 

• It totally sucks that Halloween falls on a school day this year. We'll have to have a build up to it over the weekend. We usually spend the day doing Halloween arts & crafts and watching family Halloween movies. I shared a few of our favourite Halloween movies here: 
• The dentist has cancelled Ellie's appointment AGAIN! We've two appointments out of the four, the other two have also been cancelled. This appointment was a rescheduled one and it's been cancelled again. I understand these things happen but I prepare Ellie for it (because she's been referred to a special dentist as she has a phobia and we have to go at an Ellie speed pace) and then have to prepare her all over again when it's rescheduled. *sigh* It's just one of those things and I know I shouldn't complain about it but eh. At least she's had an X-Ray and we have established that she is going to need a brace and probably quite soon.
• My headaches have still been quite bad but not as bad as it's been in the past. I'm going to the doctors Friday. I know he won't be able to do much because it's a rare brain disease (although I prefer the word condition over disease!) but I do need for it to be logged just in case I end up needing to see the neurologist. 
• Because of the above reason, I have failed blogtober. Boo! I did well at the start of the month though. My health has to come first! 

Positives: 

• We have had a fairly chilled half term so far. We went to town yesterday so the kids could spend there Birthday money! Harry decided on some points for the XBOX, Charlie picked an XBOX game and Ellie picked a little doll set. We enjoyed a lovely lunch - hot sausage roll and I treated the kids to a cake. They've been really well behaved this half term. (Touch wood, haha). I'm actually not looking forward to them going back to school, I will miss them.
• Ellie got all her answers right for her telling the time test! I am SO proud of her, she worked so hard on learning to tell the time. She can actually tell the time but gets a couple mixed up. 
• I found some bargain books for 20p each again. Including Fangirl, I can't believe it was only 20 pence! Bargain. I'm having a little break from reading now though because of my headaches.
• We have my niece around to to play, it's nice for Ellie to have someone to play with. We have spent the morning colouring in Halloween pictures that I printed out. 

• Harrys 13th Birthday last week - I still can not believe he is THIRTEEN! He had a lovely Birthday though and got some really awesome gifts.
• We also decorated this epic skull mini gift bags for Halloween!! Aren't they fab? 

Things to look forward to:

• Halloween!! And everything that comes with it. Halloween baking, the movies... Trick or Treating and so on! The kids are super excited too. Must pick up a pumpkin or two at some point. 
• Having Ellie's dentist treatment over and done with. I feel for her. 
• Parents evening is next week, I am looking forward to that, too. I think the boys parents evening is probably coming up to :) 
• Starting Christmas shopping. I haven't bought a thing yet. Eek. 

So those are our best and worst moments and bullet point update on life! How has your week been? I hope you've all had a wonderful week with more positives than negatives.

We have really been enjoying the summer holidays and spending lots of time outside while the weather is nice! We actually prefer the weather when its slightly cooler and Monday was one of those cooler days. We decided we were going to have mini picnic and visit a park we haven't been to for a while. We may have done a bit of PokemonGO hunting whilst we were out on our adventure. We hada lovely walk down to the shops and actually found a new bakery, somewhere we haven't tried before! Tucked away down a little lane. I treated the kids to a freshly baked, filled roll and a muffin each! We took our 'picnic' and went to a park close by. We were the only ones at the park (Well, there was someone there walking a dog when we first arrived, apart from that though, we were the only ones there) so we had the whole park and field to ourselves. It's a lovely park with a playground, perfect for Ellie and two football goals for the boys to play football on! It's surrounded by beautiful scenery and trees with lots of benches and places to rest and watch the kids! :)
We had a wonderful day. I got in my 10k steps, Charlie was pleased with how many Pokemon's we spotted and captured, Harry enjoyed a kick around with the football and Ellie had a blast on the park and I was more than happy to have five minutes peace, haha.











I hope the weather lasts so we can take our own picnic next time :D I think this place would be perfect for flying a kite too... On a breezy day though of course.
