I took over 3000 photos this summer! Obviously I can't share them all, but I thought I would share some of our best moments from Summer 2013.
The summer started off with Charlie's Birthday at the start of July. We went to the school fete and lots of nice walks. We also visited my grandparents which was great fun as where they live they have a communal swimming pool which family members are allowed to go in for free.

We were lucky enough to be able to go to Liverpool.
We explored the area we were staying (with family) and went to local parks!
We picked blackberries and saw some lovely horses.
We went for a family day out in Southport. It was AMAZING!
Ellie met Sponge bob and the kids went on the carousel/merry good round.
We had fish and chips for tea and had some sweet Southport rock! Yummo.
The kids also camped in the back garden, while we were in Liverpool!
They had great fun, hehe.
We got a new fur baby, Lenni...

And then the kids went back to school.
We had an amazing Summer. I love this time of year - Autumn! However... the weather has drastically changed this past week. It's turned cold, windy, wet and dull! Hopefully though, we will have some nice Autumn weather before winter approaches.

When we were in Liverpool we went for a lovely walk and then had a game of footy on the big field.
We are really making the most of the weather now because it won't be long before the weather changes...
We spotted some blackberries which the kids LOVED! We saw some horses, the kids also loved those! We stroked there noses, Ellie thought it was hilarious, lol. There was a beautiful stream with a small 'waterfall'. Ellie adored all the purple flowers, her favourite colour is purple, hehe. It was a very relaxing walk.
On the way home the kids had a game of footy, all three of my kiddies love footy so it was the perfect way to finish our evening off :-)
We really did have an amazing time in Liverpool, I shall be posting more about our Liverpool trip over the next week or so.

I am so, so behind on all things blog related. This is because my laptop charger has broken, I've managed to borrow one until tomorrow so I thought I'd pop on quick and post my reasons to be cheerful this week!
1) We are home from up north now. We had such a lovely time. We went to Southport on Tuesday, we had a great time! The kids loved the carousel/merry go 'round, they went on a few rides on the fair but Harry has a phobia of rides (no idea why! He wouldn't even come on the merry go round with me) so he did the penalty shoot out & catch a duck instead. We had a nice chippy tea after going on the beach for a bit and then ended our day in the memorabilia shop for some sticks of rock etc.
It's nice to be back home & sleep in my own bed but goodness I do miss everyone!
2) The kids go back to school next week! Which is bittersweet. I will miss them SO much but at the same time we all need our routine back now, lol. The kids seem to be looking forward to starting in new years, with new teachers and seeing all of there friends, yay! I just need to purchase there school jumpers and H a new PE kit (He's grown out of the one he currently has, thankfully Charlie's and Ellie's still fit them) from the school office on the day they return to school.
3) We got a new fur baby. He's a tabby kitten, aged 8 weeks old from a local animal rescue centre. He's so small and sweet. We've called him, 'Lenni' Although, our other cat, Lotti (She's about 15 months oldish) doesn't seem to like him. She growls and hisses. I've separated them for the time being, Lenni in one room and Lotti has the run of the house, I'll introduce them slowly and see what happens. :)

Sorry, I've been MIA for a few days. See, we're visiting family up north and i've not had much chance to write a post, so much has been going on and we're having a lovely time catching up with everyone, it's really lovely to see everyone!
The train journey up here was a nightmare. I didn't realise when I booked the train tickets, that Saturday was a) the first day of the premier league (most London teams played and other teams, which meant just about every footy fan was using the tube!) and b) It was the V festival, our train into central London happened to be one of the main trains everyone and there dog (I am not kidding!) was on, too. CHAOS! Especially the tube/underground in CENTRAL LONDON! Eek. Next time I will be checking all this out BEFORE I book the train tickets (in advance). Still, though we're here now and it's great!
The kids all slept in the tent in the back garden last night, they had a wonderful time lol. Five kids in one big tent! They thought it was great. Although Charlie and one of the other kiddies didn't go to sleep until well after midnight and Ellie made waaaayyy too much noise because she was *so* excited but that's ok, as long as they all had fun! They're camping in the tent again this weekend I think (plus an extra two kiddies). We must be crazy haha, but it's all about the kids having fun and it's a nice experience for them. Perhaps next year we can go proper camping!
I am incredibly tired today, LOL. I'll sleep well tonight and I think (and hope) the kids will, too. I am so glad they're all having fun, it makes me happy and it is really nice to have a break away and change of scenery. I'm very lucky to have family I can stay with.
I'm not really sure what else we have planned yet, we're kind of spur of the moment kind and just go for whatever on the day, lol!

Gosh hasn't this week flown by?! So we're almost half way thru the summer holidays, how is everyone enjoying the summer hols' so far? Personally I'm really enjoying not having to do school runs, spending more time with my kids and not having to rush around but my goodness, I am really missing the whole 'school' routine, lol. Anyway, here are my reasons to be cheerful this week..
1) The weekend - I am REALLY looking forward to this weekend. I'm going over to my grandparents with Ellie while the boys are at there dads (I think he's taking them to his mums house for the day, so the boys will have a lovely time there I'm sure). In the evening, we're going over to my grandparents club house/pub as there's a band playing, it's child friendly, too :-) So I'm really looking forward to that! It's lovely spending time with my grandparents, I'm really close to them & they live in such a lovely place. A long walk around the country side may be on the cards, hehe. I wonder what wildlife we'll spot... Maybe we'll spot a deer or two!
2) Summer BBQ - We are having a lovely BBQ for dinner tonight, yay! We should make the most of BBQ'ing because the weather will soon be changing.
3) I know this was one of my reasons last week - but I really LOVE my front room now it's been Re decorated/improved. I am SO proud of myself for saving up. It's really shown me what can be achieved by saving and has totally encouraged me to save more and do the rest of the house up. After Christmas though, I need to get saving for Christmas next. Eeek. This year is flying by!

I thought I would share my ideas on how to entertain children this summer. We all know how bored the kids get during the summer holidays. It's all very well going on holidays and days out but that gets very expensive! So I thought I would share with you some of my ideas to keep children entertained this summer. We try to make the most of being outside in the sunshine. If it rains, there's plenty of indoor activities to keep the children entertained.
1) Bubbles! ALL age kids love bubbles, even *I* love bubbles and I'm (suppose to be) an adult (such a big kid!) Add food colouring to the bubble mixture - make 'rainbow' bubbles. My kids love having a 'who can make the biggest bubble contest'
2) Go on a bug hunt. Give your kids an old ice cream or margarine container (of course make sure it's been washed out properly), add in some grass, leaves, sticks etc, add a few air holes to the lid and sides of the container and send them off into the garden for a bug hunt! We find all kinds of bugs.. lady birds, spiders (Eek!), caterpillars.. It's great fun! We also find slow worms in our back garden.
3) Let them play in water. Now, my kids (especially my daughter who is five years old) LOVES to play in a bowl or a bucket of water. She'll wash all her plastic animals and make up games, she uses the container of water as a swimming pool and makes a boat. It's great! What kid wouldn't love this? You get really creative and add some pebbles and sad, perhaps make a 'beach'. We add a little food colouring or bubbles in the water to make it more fun. (Obviously never leave small children unattended especially with water!)
4) Visit the park - always great fun! You could even go on a bug hunt while you're at the park. You could take a picnic or a snack. Sometimes, on the way & way home to/from the park (we walk btw) we play 'The first one to spot a...' and then I give three things they have to find 'A post box' 'A blue car' and 'Something yellow' for example. (This is also good for keeping kids entertained when going on a long car ride)
5) Go for a walk somewhere you have never been before. Recently we got out and explored out area a little. We found a lovely meadow with a wooden bridge and a huge weeping willow tree. It's seriously a really beautiful place. I can't believe I'd never came across it before. It's like, 10 mins walk away from our house!! Amazing.
6) Let the kids take photos - Now, I don't know about anyone else's kids but my kids LOVE taking photos. Some of the photos the kids take actually come out quite good! They take such random photos... usually of there hand or of each other pulling funny faces. Some of there pictures I have printed out and kept. They do make nice keep sakes!
7) Arts & crafts. I'm sure most of us parents have poster paints, paper and what not, in the back of the cupboard somewhere. Dig 'em out and get creative! Add in some glitter and glue and make something sparkly to hang near the window so the sun catches it and makes it sparkle really stand out! Or make a card for someone, easy! You could even get the kids making picture frames for some of the photos they took themselves! The kids will love it. We save art & craft days for when it's raining. You could try.
8) Movie Time! When was the last time you had a family movie? day/night? Grab some popcorn, a juicy drink (why not add a straw to the kids drinks, be a bit like in the cinema, hehe), stick in the DVD put the cushions on the floor and chill. The kids will love it. What are your kids favourite movies at the moment?
9) Make a cubby house - stick a sheet over the table outside add a chair or two round the edge, peg the sheet on. Ta Daaa, you have a 'cubby house' We usually put in some cushions and an old rug, make it nice and cosy! The kids love it. I use to love doing this when I was a kid. 10) Read - It's free to join the library. Sometimes during the school holidays the library will have special morning or afternoon sessions - arts and crafts, story telling etc. Check out your local library and see if they have anything fun going on. Read books to your children and have them read to you! You could even read in the cubby house. Well, I struggle to get up once I'm down that low LOL. I'm getting old, lol.
11) Board games - why not play them outside in the garden (if the weather is nice) rather than play them indoors? Our personal favourite is BINGO! Twister is a fun one to play outside or giant snakes and ladders. Such good fun!
12) Water fight - Now this one can get a bit messy if you don't have an outside tap (like us!) I put a bucket of water outside so we can fill out water pistols/balloons/squirty bottles up from the bucket. Much less mess. Just make sure you have a towel (or six) ready for when the kids want to dry themselves! Usually after the water fight I give them all an ice pop or ice lolly, while they sit in the garden and dry off! I personally love a good water fight and so do the kids. Hehe.
So there's some of my ideas on keeping the kids entertained during the summer holidays for free or cheap. While making very happy family memories, too.

So the first week of the summer holidays is almost over (although, my 3 littles didn't break up until this past Tuesday). We really haven't done THAT much yet because I've not felt too great and it has been just TOO hot. We have been enjoying plenty of walks and visits to the park after school though last week. Next week we do have plans. But anyway. Here's what we've been enjoying outside lately. I thought I'd just write one big post about everything we've been up to and make a collage with the pictures. Much simpler and easier for =)
We have been on a lovely nature walk where I discovered some awesome kind of moth/butterfly. No idea what it's called but i's ever so pretty.
Ellie found some rather large daisies which she loved! We found random nature ponds, spotted seaguls and other birds and of course enjoyed the lovely walk thru the long grass. We've actually been a couple of times to this place, it's beautiful!
I also took Ellie to my grandparents who live in a country park (like a big cabin), family can use the swimming pool there, Ellie enjoyed that! And we went to the pirate ship park, just me and Ellie while the boys were fishing with there dad (the boys see there dad every weekend, he lives right by a lake so they get to go fishing, which they love!)
And I had to share the picture of Charlie on his birthday opening his tablet! He was SO happy! He loves that thing so much. He reads e-books on it, plays maths games and learns spellings. Not only is he learning but he's ENJOYING learning. He likes to sit in his tent with it and take photos of random things like slow worms and cats lol.
We've been to the park a couple of times, too. There's a new "train" at the park which the kids really love. They love the yellow tunnel they can climb thru! We also see lots of there friends at the park and the boys can't resist a good old game of footy!

1) Schools out for summer -- Yup, the kids broke up from school for six whole weeks. It's lovely having them home. Although so far we've not done much because I've not felt 100% but they have had fun riding there bikes outside and playing footy with there friends.
2) I am feeling a little better today, thankfully. I am going to catch up on housework and washing. Ahh, the joys. Hopefully I'll be able to have a relaxing weekend.
3) We are getting another kitten! Yay! He's from a rescue centre but he is only 3-4 weeks old and is being hand fed. The mummy cat was feral, she either abandoned her litter or she passed away. We've already named him Lenni. Hopefully once his big enough, he'll keep all the other tom cats away -- they drive me crazy trying to attack my female cat and spraying all up my dustbins outside. Don't get me wrong I LOVE cats but I don't love the smell they leave behind... Especially in this heat, lol. Hopefully everything with Lenni works out *crosses fingers*
And another reason to be happy is of course because today is Friday! Woohoo.

Argh! The internet on my laptop doesn't work, which is odd because when I connect my phone or tablet to the router it works just fine! I'm going to get someone to format my laptop and start again...I hope that works. So if I'm MIA for a while you know why!
Anyway, today is the last day of term! Yay! Six whole weeks of not having to worry about school runs, lunches and school uniforms. Well, except buying new uniforms of course. The weather isn't too great this week but hopefully next week we can get out and do something. The beach perhaps? We shall see. I'm so looking forward to spending more time with the kiddos and not having to rush about. Will be lovely. Lets hope they don't get bored for at least half the holidays, lol.

I apologise for lack of updating my blog this week. The end of the school year is coming up and things are MANIC. Well and truly busy! School discos, parties, appointments with teachers, baking cakes for school competitions (Alice in wonderland themed! I am NOT a baker, I suck at baking cakes lol. Different coloured cupcakes with flowers and maybe 'Alice in wonderland' or 'Mad Hatter' wrote on with icing pens, is ok though, yes?? Seriously I am lacking time, lol!), the usual chores, grocery shopping, laundry (Is it just me that seems to be constantly washing, hanging and folding clothes?!) the list is endless and I can't even think straight. I am SO tired.
Roll on the end of half term.
On a better note, the kids are so, so looking forward to there discos and end of term parties. Not to mention games day. They can't decide which board games they want to take in! They're also allowed to take in there favourite DVD. Ellie is so looking forward to her school disco. She gets to join the year ones in there disco session! So grown up. Both boys are pleased with the teachers that'll be teaching them in September. Yet to find out who'll be teaching Ellie though.
there school reports are wonderful! I am SO proud of them all. They all have excellent reports (and attendance). I'm really excited for them. The last week at school is always fun and I know they're gonna have blast.
I can not believe how fast this last year has gone. This time last year Ellie was getting ready to go up to primary school and Charlie getting ready to join the junior school, Harry was looking forward to being in year four. It's mad that I'm going to be a mum of a year 1, year 4 and year 5 children. HOW did that even happen?! Lol. Time flies when your having fun... or rather just being a mum.
Roll on the end of term. I am looking forward to chillaxing days with the kiddos in the sunshine :D

Phew! So glad it's almost Friday. Ha, I seem to live for Fridays lately, not that I do anything exciting, it's just nice to be able to chill and spend some time with the kiddies at the weekend! And sometimes have a Friday movie night with the kiddos, it's lovely.
Soooo what makes me smile this week? Let's see...
1) Last Saturday was the school summer fete, it was really good fun! Cost hardly anything at all and the weather was so warm and sunny! We had a wonderful time. The highlight for me was listening to the animal show (there was a guy there with snakes, spiders, tortoises and other random animals. He was teaching us all about the animals), I learned some really interesting facts. Although, when he was holding the tarantular I had to walk away because it seriously gave me the creeps. Ha, I am such a wimp. Ellie loved the face painting and bouncey castles/slides. It was fab.
2) The weather has been wonderful (except yesterday and today but eh, can't complain too much). It's been really hot and sunny! I have a tan from just walking around. Two people have asked me where I went on holiday and I reply with "I haven't been on holiday...." (Ha! I wish!) I really have gone quite brown. Lovely :)
3) Charlie had a school trip to the beach the other day, he had a lovely time and learned all about sea rescue and had lunch in the beach cafe, awww. Ellie has a school trip coming up, too! It'll be her first. I am so excited for her. Bless.
4) The end of the school year is coming up and I can not wait! No more rushing around. I'm hoping to be able to take the kids to a few places. The beach and for picnics, crabbing and having lots of fun outside! Yay. Roll on the end of term. Woohoo.

Last week was sports day for my three kids. It was so sunny and so warm. I was so glad the weather was nice enough to enjoy a picnic after the infants sports had finished. It was lovely to have a picnic on the school field with Ellie and all her friends.
The infants sports day was in the morning and the juniors sports day was in the afternoon. The infants were all split up into teams and each team moved around each activity when two minutes was up. It worked really well and I thought it was much better because there was no waiting around inbetween races. I know that Ellie would have gotten bored of waiting around, watching the other classes races. It was a much more organised way to do sports day in my opinion. Ellie came second in a couple of races and she was really good at the space hopper race. It was so cute watching all the little ones trying to race with a hoop on there head, bless 'em. After the races were all over, it turned out that Ellies team won! Yay! Everyone who took part (so all the infants) got a little medal each, aww. So proud of Ellie, I could really tell she was trying her best. Bless. We stayed for a picnic (which we packed ourselves) which went on until 1pm. Ellie and her friend gave me a tour of the school playground, the garden area and the woodland area, I'd never seen those areas before. I loved the woodland area.
In the afternoon it was the juniors turn for sports day! Again, they were put into teams, which I think worked rather well. Harry and Charlie were both in the same team (thank goodness! Imagine me trying to watch two teams at once, that wouldn't have worked well at all). They both did so, so well! Harry is quite athletic and sporty, he was really quite fast on some of the races/activities. Charlie was fab at the long jump, he's so tiny compared to everyone else! He looks too little to be in juniors, lol! I was impressed and so, so proud of him, with the way he handled sports day, usually sports don't interest him for very long, not the case any more it seems! I think there team came second overall. Not bad. Not bad at all!
Harry came second in the boys 600m running and was awarded a silver medal and got to stand on the podium, hehe. Another proud moment! Hehe.
I am SO proud of them all. :)

On Saturday, it was my daughters school fete. It was a really lovely hot sunny day and I'd been saving up all our 10ps, 20ps and 50ps for a couple of months with the fete in mind (You know how fetes and sales never have any change? That's partly why we saved ours, that and it was something I didn't have to 'fork' out for). I think I had nearly £20 in change! LOL.There was no entry fee which I thought was awesome. However, it was £5 for a wrist band that entitled kids to unlimited time on the bouncy castles/inflatable slides and what not, I thought it was well worth it. There were quite a few bouncy castles/slides etc there, Ellie spent a good two hours playing on those with her friends. If they'd have been charging 50p or £1 a go, it would've cost a lot more that a fiver. So well worth it in my opinion. We wont 3 prizes on the raffle (£1 for six tickets!!) a box of Malteasers, a bag of mixed sweets with a ribbon tided around it and a brand new necklace (fashion necklace) for Ellie with pretty beads on, she loved that! We also brought Ellie an Ice cream. The boys were at there dads, they went fishing (and apparently caught a few fish, they had fun but it wasn't the same without them with us at the fete. Next year I'm sure they'll be able to come) but we did buy them a something each and they got to share the sweets we won.
There was a guy at the fete doing an animal talk show, so cool! He had a big tarantula spider, some huge insects and millipede things (they freaked me out! I had to walk away. I'm such a wimp, lol) and snakes. Eek! I did like the tortoises. It was cool thing to have at a school fete, educational, too! And Ellie got her face painted and I got a slice of chocolate cake (It would've been rude not to, haha). All in all I think I spent about a tenner. We were there a good two and half hours! It was fun and Ellie enjoyed it. I think she liked the slide that she had to climb up and then slide down and go thru tunnel things. I must admit, it did look fun, lol! Wish I could've had a go, haha.
On Sunday, we went to the carboot sale, it was SO hot and very busy! I didn't look around half the stalls because it was so crowded and just too hot to wait around, lol. I did however pick up this cute little trinket box. It's perfect for keeping my earings in and not bad for £1!
(I like anything that sparkles and is pink! Hehe)
My next post will be about sports day, unfortunatly I have no pics of Ellie that I can share because it's the schools policy not to post them on the internet, only your own children. All the pics have other kids in. I did however, get one of Ellie on her own and one of the boys together. I shall be writing about that sometime this week :)

(P.S I feel like I always post more pics of Ellie than I do the boys, that's because they hate having there pictures taken, apparently it's for "babies". As Harry would say "Ahuh, whatevz" lol. Kids these days with there lingo, eh?! Lol.)
