We also sprayed them with edible silver shimmer spray (left over from Christmas!) which gave them a metallic look.We're really pleased with how they turned out! And just by using (mostly) things that were left over from other baking projects!

We really do love arts and crafts, especially Ellie. Baker Ross sent us these lovely heart shaped jigsaw puzzles to decorate and review. They are perfect for Valentines themed crafts for children.


Ellie was super excited to decorate these and then pull them apart and put them back together. Ellie decided that my sharpies and her markers would be the perfect pens to colour and decorate these jigsaws with.


The Jigsaws are made from thick card and come in a pack of eight priced at just £2.40. You can use pens, crayon, pencils or even paints on these jigsaw puzzles.


 Ellie was all "I love decorating these, I can't wait to see what it's like when it's finished" Aww. I did help her with the bubble writing but apart from that she decorated them herself!


When she was finished the pulled them apart and then put them back together, she's eight years old and I honestly think these are the perfect craft project for her. She loves being creative and this is something she could really create herself!


I'd highly recommend these for any child that enjoys being creative. It would also make a lovely group activity for Valentines day.

Savouring the season 

Snapfish are a company that sell a wide range of personalised, unique gifts for every occasion. They have a wide variety of personalised gifts and cards for the up coming Valentines day. Snapfish contacted me and asked if I'd like to review there unique gifts for this lovely season. I chose to review an iPhone phone case, a note book and a Valentines day card.


All the gifts came in padded envelopes and bubble wrapped really well so that they didn't get damaged in transit. I couldn't wait to rip open the packages and see the gift I'd chose.


I personalised my phone case with a photo and added a little quote over the top, I do love quotes! I created my image using pic monkey which is also free to use. There are lots of apps and free online websites you can use to be creative. I then uploaded that image to Snapfish, was easy and fast. All I had to do once the image was uploaded was simply drop & drag the image into the phone case slot. I think by adding a quote I made it even more unique. I do wish I'd used a high resolution photo but it still came out well! The phone case itself is made of hard plastic and protects my phone perfectly. I know I've said this before but it's so important to have a phone case on your phone to project it from drops and knocks and a personalised case makes it much more fun. The case fits on my phone perfectly and is easy to put on and take off my phone. There are holes for earphones/charger etc, too!


There are a wide variety of note books to chose from, too! With different patterns and layouts to chose from for your own liking. I chose mine and added a photo of my children on the front. The notebook I chose can also be personalised on the inside of the cover, too! I added another photo and another one of my favourite quotes. You can chose from plain paper or lined paper for the actual note book paper. I chose lined. I really love this note book and it fits perfectly in my hand bag. Priced at just £5.99, it's well worth it and would make a really lovely gift.


There are a huge selection of Valentines cards which can all be personalised with your own words and photographs. Again, it's very easy to do, you can upload photos from your Facebook account straight to Snapfish or upload straight from your computer. I chose my photo and simply dragged and dropped it into the card I had chosen. It really is fast and easy! I could then add my own words and even personalise the back of the cover with more photos! Honestly, it only took me a few minutes, it took me longer to chose the card and what photos to use, than it did to actually "make" the card, haha. This card cost just £2.49 and it's made from thick good quality card. I love the fact I can personalise it to my liking and it does come with an envelope!

Personally I don't think you can beat a personalised gift or card. It's such a unique gift to give. Snapfish sell a wide variety of personalised photo gifts all reasonably priced. The website is fast and easy to use and delivery is also quick, too!

I was sent these products for the purpose of this review, all opinions are my own, honest, personal opinions. I was not paid for this post.

The other day I picked up a Valentines gingerbread biscuit set in Morrisons for £1.50 (ish. Can't remember the exact price but they were under £2). Containing four nice sized gingerbread hearts. A small pack of sprinkles and a pink icing pen.
Perfect for the kids!




The kids couldn't wait to start decorating them. And eating them, too! Yummy. We already had a good selection of sprinkles and icing pens left over from last time we did some baking and decorated digestive biscuits. The kids used the icing pen first and then added on the sprinkles/decorations of there choice onto there biscuits. Ellie liked the heart shaped ones best. Charlie loved the little silver and pink sugar balls and Harry wanted a bit of everything on his, lol.

When the kids had finished, they shook there biccies over there plates so that all the lose sprinkles fell off.
The little's really enjoyed decorating and then eating these! I think it's a lovely little activity and treat. It's cheap, too!

The weather is so cold, it's too cold to go out and way to wet! So we decided to make some Valentines mice using card and glitter! We have so much card left over from other projects as well as glitter, this is such a good way to use those up!



For this you'll need:

A sheet of red card (per mouse) or colour of your choice.
A sheet of white card (We used the back of an old Christmas card)
Glitter pens or glitter
A pair of scissors
PVA glue
A black felt pen

First of all we folded the coloured card in half and drew half a heart on the fold. And then cut it out.
We used the remaining card to cut a tail shape.


We then folded our heart back so we had half a heart again and put a dab of PVA glue on the end of the tail. We then placed the tail between the rounded end of the heart and glued it down!

Now for the whiskers we cut out some very small, tiny, short strips of white card. Three for each side, so six in total!

We glued those on the opposite side of the card, just near the nose. 

"We need to draw an eye now mummy, so our mouse can see all around" Said Ellie, so we drew on an eye using our black felt pen.
And coloured in the tip of the mousey's nose (The pointy end of the card)


Next we need to make the ear. We folded out white card in half again and cut out a small white heart (not too big!) Then we stuck it on just above the eye.

Inside the ear, we drew a smaller heart shape and used the glitter pens to colour it in! Ellie choose a dark pink for her 'Mouseys' ear. Charlie choose a different coloured card for his ear and used a smaller white heart for the inside of his mouses ear! Such good fun, hehe.

For the finishing touches Ellie wanted to add some more glitter.. We love glitter, hehe.


So simple and easy to make and the kids loved making them, too! Ellie wants to make a whole "Mice family" now, so maybe we'll make some baby mice another day! What fun.
