I did something incredibly stupid today. I scolded my hand with boiling hot cooking oil. How it happened? I've no idea, it was just one of those things, it happened so fast! So, I am typing this with my left hand (I'm right handed). I am seriously so clumsy. I kept my hand in freezing cold ice water for a couple of hours and have a wet, cold bandage on it now. I do have burn cream but it doesn't appear to be helping much. I'll get it checked by the nurse tomorrow if needed. We'll see.
Having said the above, if I don't blog often this week -or however long-, you know why - it's difficult to type one handed with my left hand. I do have a couple of posts scheduled though. 
 Honestly, I could kick myself for being so careless and clumsy. I'm really mad at myself about it! It's going to be challenging doing every day things for a while, I should imagine. (It's taken my half an hour to just type the above. I'd usually have it typed within a minute or two. So frustrating!)

This weekend has been quiet. I haven't really done very much. I took Ellie to the park today though as it was such a beautiful day today. It's been really, really warm and sunny! Blue skies and sunshine, just perfect. The boys had a nice time at there dads and are now sitting at the dinner table doing there homework. Bed time soon!


I think I'm gonna have an early night tonight and try and sleep through this horrible stinging/burning pain in my hand.

I haven't done reasons to be cheerful for a while now and I really miss it! Sometimes I NEED to remind myself of reasons to be cheerful and today is one of those times. I've had a really bad week this week and thought I'd remind myself of all the reasons to be cheerful by joining in this lovely linky which is hosted by Lakes single mum.

Beautiful evening sky!

1. It's the first day of spring, finally! Yay! You have no idea how glad I am that it is finally spring. The sun is shining today and the weather is quite mild. I can't wait to get outside more with the kids, go on picnics and achieve some of the things on our spring bucket list! Such fun, hehe. 
2. Ellie has been feeling under the weather but seems a little bit better today, thank goodness. She's had a high temperature for two days but it seems to be going down now, thank goodness. Hopefully she'll feel 100% herself, soon. So my second reason to be cheerful is that Ellie is getting better! *knocks on wood* 
3. My third reason to be cheerful is that I am going to sort the boys room out today! I finally have there new bunk beds. Today's task is taking the old ones down and putting the new ones up. At last! It's taken a while to save for but so worth it. Wish me luck, I'm doing it alone :/ It's gonna look a lot better in there room with new bunk beds and a nice new canvas wardrobe. 
4. I'm glad tomorrow is Friday! I am looking forward to nice relaxing weekend (hopefully headache free). Perhaps even a lie in on Sunday! We shall see.

1) Ellie was poorly last night but she seems better now, thank goodness. I just hope the boys don't catch it! And I don't want it either, I am so glad Ellie is better though! Hate it when the kids are poorly, I feel so helpless.

2) I got new boots in the sale on Tuesday! Yay! They were £20 marked down to £7! Bargain!! And they're nice too. I rarely buy myself anything because I always feel guilty about spending money on myself. Usually all my spare money goes towards what ever the kids need/want. But they don't need anything at the moment.. so yay for bargain boots!

3) I'm glad the weekend is nearly upon us, thank goodness!! It's been a looonnnnggg week and I need a rest... and a lay in, lol. It's been a week full of sickness, headaches, stress and everything going wrong, so I'll be glad when the weekend is finally here!!

1) Ellie's reading has really, really improved, as has her spelling. She is really sounding out words properly now rather than trying to guess. I love hearing her read every evening and seeing (and hearing!) how much she's improved since last year! She's also attending reading club once a week, after school. Which she loves :-)

2) We went to the pier on Monday after school. We went on the 2p machines and few of those 50p rides. All the big rides were closed but it was still fun and a real treat for the kiddies. The kids were really well behaved. I am glad the kids behave when we're out and about even if they do play me up at home. Over all though, they're pretty good kids and helpful too.

3) The weekend -- Oh, how I am so looking forward to this weekend and just chilling out. Last weekend we had family staying over, which was lovely but I am so looking forward to relaxing this weekend! Just a quiet weekend. Yay!

Yay! It's Thursday which means it's reasons to be cheerful time again!! I love joining in with this blog hop and sharing my reasons to be cheerful. 

1) Firstly, the weather has been beautiful the last week or so (minus the weekend when we had the typical April showers). We've been in the garden planting more seeds and sitting out in the sunshine eating dinner! It's been lovely. I don't think summer is far away. Yay! 
2) My kiddos don't have school tomorrow because it's a non pupil day, we get a nice long weekend because it's bank holiday weekend, too! It's a much needed relaxing weekend and I get time to spend with my children. I do really miss them when they are at school, it'll be lovely to have them home for a few days :) 
3) Last weekend we got to spend some time with my grandparents, I am close to my grandparents, despite not being able to see them as often as I would like! It was SO nice to spend time with them in there new home. We enjoyed a lovely lunch together, it was really nice. I also got to see around the area they live in, it's truly amazing, peaceful and so pretty! I wrote about it here. They live in the countryside and are surround by beautiful fields, woodlands and wildlife. 
4) I've hit over 10,000 page views on my blog! Yay! Thank you all SO, SO much!! I am grateful to everyone who reads my blog. Thank you, you guys are awesome!! 
5) And of course - tomorrow is Friday! That's always a reason to be happy :)

This weekend, while the boys were at there dads we went over to my nan and grandads house. They moved there just over a year ago and I haven't been able to visit because they live in the middle of nowhere! Well, my granddad came and picked Ellie and I up this weekend!! They live in a holiday park in like a big cabin thingy, it is SO nice! There's so much to do!!
The field out the back of there's has deer & rabbits, foxes and other wildlife, it's lovely! There's a clubhouse that does meals and has functions on in the evening with a play area for kiddies outside. There's also a swimming pool... heated! And a kids pool, too. Unfortunately it was raining this weekend so we didn't get try the pool but we had such a good time! It's truly a beautiful place and so, SO peaceful. It was lovely to get away for a few hours. We're going to go over for a BBQ when the weather gets better, I can't wait to take the boys!!

It's back to reality now. I have grocery shopping to do tomorrow (Have I ever told you how much I hate supermarkets?) which I am not looking forward to lol. I've got a few other bits and bobs to do around the house and the usual household chores - nothing fun I'm afraid. Some of my seedlings are now mini plants and need re potting. I can't wait until they start flowing, yay! My tomatoes plants are growing well, too. This is the first time I have ever tried growing plants from seeds so I am rather proud of the results, hehe.
