Its half term and we plan on spending as much time outdoors as possible! Winter is well on it's way and we're really wanting to make the most of Autumn as it's out absolute favourite time of year. The leaves are changing colour and the weather is becoming cooler.

We decided to go for an Autumnal walk and walk along the river bank to feed the (very) greedy swans! It's one of our favourite things to do. Another one of our favourite things to do is throw leaves up in the air. My children absolutely love this and it's of course free. Honestly, you do not need lots of money and expensive days out.. my children are happy with just a pile of leaves and lots of space to run around, hehe.






 After we'd finished playing in the leaves and chatting about how beautiful everything is this time of year, we headed down to the river to feed the swans! We were surprised there were no Canadian geese there! There are usually tonnes of geese but none this time.
We may have also been chased by the greedy swans wanting more bread!



 We finished our walk off with an Ice cream! Which the kids thoroughly enjoyed, goes without saying really, haha.

We are hoping to go for more lovely walks. Maybe we'll put on the wellie boots and go for a stroll in the woods sometime this week! I bet it looks amazing down by the pond this time of year!

We have had a fantastic Autumn. We achieved quite a few things on our bucket list and still have a few to go (which we're going to do over the next couple of weeks).
At the start of Autumn, Ellie turned seven years old. I still find it hard to believe that she is seven years old already! She had a lovely birthday and got lots of really great gifts.


We really enjoyed lots of things about Autumn. Harry's favourite thing about Autumn is onsie weather! Of all things, lol!
We enjoyed a lovely Autumn walk, where we spotted some squirrels running around in the trees. They're so cute.


Harry went on a school trip to London and learned a lot about 'The Clink' and the river Thames, I wish he could have taken photos but camera's were not allowed!
We all enjoyed the mild weather that came along with Autumn, which was nice and we really made the most of it.


We had some family time and watched some movies, the kids really enjoyed 'The Lego Movie'. 

In October, Harry turned eleven years old. My first born child is now eleven years old, whoa! Where has time gone?! He also had a brilliant Birthday! He got some fabulous gifts and had a friend 'round for dinner!


 We also baked some really lovely Halloween cupcakes, (with a few random ones thrown in, haha) which the kids really enjoyed.



We enjoyed a trip to the zoo, which was awesome! We haven't ever been to the zoo in the Autumn time before. The zoo looked SO beautiful in the Autumn time and we had a blast! It's hard to choose my favourite animal but I know Ellie enjoyed the penguins!


Speaking of Halloween, the kids had a fab time Trick Or Treating. We didn't stay out for too long though. They got some yummy Halloween treats! And we also watched some Halloween movies, we enjoyed 'The Haunted Mansion' which is one movie I had never seen before.

Our cat Lotti isn't liking the cooler weather - she sleeps instead!

On Saturday just gone, Ellie and I went to the zoo with my brothers and sister (and there families). The boys were at there dads (And went fishing). We really want to go back again, with the boys next time!

It was also all Halloween themed. Some of the staff were dressed up! They even had a haunted church area, with a grave yard and what not. It was quite spooky, especially when the scary man kept on jumping out on me. Boy, did I jump! Haha.

We had a wonderful time at Colchester zoo. It was really, really good fun! It is SO big, there is so much to see and do, it's certainly worth the money. And we seriously learned so much about how the animals live in the wold, what they eat and so much more! It was amazing.

The zebras and giraffes were Ellie's favourite. They are super cool and they looked pretty happy. They have a lot of space to roam around in! Ellie was all "Can we have a pet giraffe" Haha.

Colchester zoo is also very pretty! There are so many flower displays, beautiful trees and the pond looks very beautiful indeed, especially at this time of year. Guys, Colchester zoo in the Autumn looks very beautiful.

 I wonder if there are any terrapins in the pond? I know there are lots of ducks and fishes.

 We stopped off for some lunch! I took Ellie a packed lunch with me to save time and money! I did however, buy us some cheesy chips, which were reasonably priced! Yummy.
Ellie also got to play on the (one of the many) park for a while, I don't know why I didn't take photos though!

We also got to feed some very greedy goats! We brought a pot of food from the desk for them. They kept nudging us because we weren't giving them the food fast enough, lol!
Ellie thought they were scary at first but also kind of cute and funny once she got the hang of feeding them. Aww.




I really, really loved the penguins. At one point one of them was following Ellie as she walked along the sode of the tank/pool. I think it wanted to play! I couldn't get a pic though, it was quite dark. We did however, go up to the surface and watch the penguins!




Ellie of course had to name each and every single penguin, haha! She was like "oh my goodness they are exactly like Pingu" Guess what she wanted to watch when we got home?! Haha.


The Wallaby's were really cool, too! I LOVE these animals. I find them most fascinating.




We also saw meercats, lions, a tiger, birds of all kinds, a bear, hyinana's but my favourite? The green Iguana's I love them and I really love the fact that you like walk around in there little hut thingy! The Rhino Iguanas were also really cool! I love reptiles.

I think, my absolute favourite though, has to be the monkeys and I know that Ellie really, really loved them, too because she kept asking if we could take them home with us LOL.


The orangutangs have recently got a new enclosure and it's pretty cool! Ellie was like "I could plat there hair, they're like hairy big monkey's" That made me chuckle. We really liked them!



We didn't get to see all of the animals, (probably 75%) it's exhausting but such good fun! I also have rotten cold and sore throat. We spent a good seven hours at the zoo though! And next time we go to the zoo we'll certainly check out the animals we didn't see.
