The one where we throw leaves in the air.
00:00Its half term and we plan on spending as much time outdoors as possible! Winter is well on it's way and we're really wanting to make the most of Autumn as it's out absolute favourite time of year. The leaves are changing colour and the weather is becoming cooler.
We decided to go for an Autumnal walk and walk along the river bank to feed the (very) greedy swans! It's one of our favourite things to do. Another one of our favourite things to do is throw leaves up in the air. My children absolutely love this and it's of course free. Honestly, you do not need lots of money and expensive days out.. my children are happy with just a pile of leaves and lots of space to run around, hehe.
After we'd finished playing in the leaves and chatting about how beautiful everything is this time of year, we headed down to the river to feed the swans! We were surprised there were no Canadian geese there! There are usually tonnes of geese but none this time.
We may have also been chased by the greedy swans wanting more bread!
We finished our walk off with an Ice cream! Which the kids thoroughly enjoyed, goes without saying really, haha.
We are hoping to go for more lovely walks. Maybe we'll put on the wellie boots and go for a stroll in the woods sometime this week! I bet it looks amazing down by the pond this time of year!
How have you been enjoying Autumn and half term so far? I'd love to hear what you have been up to!

ReplyDeleteIt must be so much warmer down there to be eating ice cream and out in t-shirts, either that or your kids really don't feel the cold?! We've had at least 3 layers on when we're out, including a fleece lined jacket each. I love your photos, great ones of your kids just enjoying nature!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather :) x
Great walk, adorable kids, beautiful pictures! #MMWBH
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures! You all look so happy! I love Autumn and throwing leaves and you're right, it really is such a stunning season. Although you're a lot braver than me with the swans. They terrify me, if they were chasing me I'd be so scared! It looks like you had a perfect family day out. Thank you so much for linking up to #whatevertheweather xx
ReplyDeleteIt has been really warm this autumn compare to recent years, so we're getting out as much as possible too.Kids seeme to forget all arguments with their siblings when they out on a country walk.

Love that it was a beautiful Autumn day but it wasn't too cold for ice cream. Perfect! I love Autumn! I think it may be my favourite. Apart from when it is raining. :) Thanks for linking up! #shareasmile xx
ReplyDeleteI think every child should get to experience days like this, running free and throwing leaves, it is one of my fondest memories of autumn as a child. Thank you for sharing some gorgeous photos on Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a very pretty time of year - if it could just have a little less rain I would be happy. Beautiful photos x
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! Swan's scare the bejessus out of me. I think I was chased a few times when I was little. Your kids were brave to get so close. Such pretty photos. Makes me homesick, no Autumn colours in Thailand.

Its so true - who needs money when you've got free leaves and sunshine?! Love the fact that your older kids are thoroughly enjoying it too, like my eldest does but is beginning to feel awkward about mucking about in public like that (sad face). Love the river - where is it? #savouringtheseason
