This weekend it's been quite cold but I was determined we were going to go out for a walk because we're all fed up of being coped up indoors. We went for a wakl around our local woodland, which is only a few minutes walk away from our house. We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area.
It's -what I call- bluebell season. I only wish we'd have gone for our walk a few days sooner, as the bluebells are starting to die off now but they're still very pretty!
The kids loved the sea of purple flowers. It looks so pretty! I feel like pictures dothe floor of purple bluebells no justice. And let me tell you, they smell lovely in the woodland, too! We took some photographs and then headed deeper into the woods for our walk! We actually explored a part of the woods that I haven't been to since I was about eight years old (my daughters age!). The kids LOVED it. They love exploring and I love showing them where I use to play when I was a child. I have many memories in this woodland, going on walks with my siblings and dad. It's nice I get to make these memories with my own children.
Of course, it wouldn't be a walk in the woods without climbing a few old trees and exploring! My children love climbing trees, hehe.
Unfortunately someone has graffitied all over one of the old trees, which is a bit disappointing. Even if the tree is dead. Still thought, we enjoyed our walk.
We also walked down to the pond briefly. At this point we were hurrying on our way home because it was about to pour down with rain and Harry didn't take his coat (because teenagers know best and "I won't need my coat mum") Still I managed to snap a quick pic of the pond!
We had a lovely walk and I'm really hoping the weather warms up a bit soon! We got home just as it started to pour down with rain! Phew. Not that we mind rain, we actually quite like it, if only Harry had of taken his coat! I can't wait to show the kids more places I use to play as a child :)

After what feels like a long, dull, cold winter, I always look forward to Spring. It's always very welcome! Here are some things I love about spring time.
1. The weather. It's not too hot and it's not too cold, it's what I call light sweater weather. Even the showers that come with Spring, we love. I just love the milder weather. Being able to go to the park with the kids or to feed the ducks. It's always a very welcome season! We love our walks and trips to the park. Even playing out in the showers and splashing in puddles is fun!
2. The beautiful flowers and colours of spring! When the daffodils start blooming, I know it's almost springtime! I enjoy taking photos of flowers and sharing them on instagram.
3. Being able to hang my washing on the washing line! Oh how I do love a line full of clothes. It's very satisfying looking out of my kitchen window seeing a lovely full line of washing! Is that weird? Not only do I save electric but my clothes always smell fresher! I air the clothes in the drier for 15 minutes with an added tumble drier sheet for extra fresheness.
4. Spring cleaning!! I love a good spring clean and sorting through what we need and don't need, donating to charity or throwing things away that are no longer any use to anyone. That's also very satisfying and I always feed good after a good spring clean and sort out/de-clutter. I recently invested in a steam mop with a steamer and wow, it's so good!
5. Spring arts & crafts with the kids is great fun! We try to be as creative as we possibly can, coming up with new ideas and testing products! It's one of favourite things to do. We recently created some fingerprint animals using a paint pad!
6. The spring animals. I even spotted an Alpaca when I was on a random walk the other day! I was walking past an animal sanctuary farm and imagine the shock when I spotted the Alpaca just munching away on grass. An Alpaca is not something you see every day here in U.K. The farm sanctuary has rescued it I think. It made my entire day :) We're hoping to get out and look for some spring lambs and chicks. We live in the country side (along the coast!) so it shouldn't be too hard to spot. Maybe even some signets and ducklings, too!
What do you like about Spring? Or what's your favourite season? Let me know in the comments.
A few weeks ago, I shared my Easter & Spring bucket list with you all. I thought I'd do a little update on how we did with it. I could have done A LOT better! At least we achieved some of the things from our list though. Aprils looks a bit similar because some of the things we didn't do in March, we'll do it April :)
Celebrate Mothers Day - We did that! The kids made some lovely Mothers day cards and bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, hehe.
Easter arts & crafts. We did plenty of those! We received some lovely Easter and Spring kits from Baker Ross to review. Charlie and Ellie also decorated an Egg for the school competition, in which they both won prizes.
Play in the rain - We didn't do this sadly :( It was still quite cold and also very windy at times! I'm certain we play in the rain and splash in puddles in April. April showers after all! :)
Plant some flowers/fruit/veg - Sadly another thing we didn't do. Certainly in April though! I've done some research, too.
Decorate Easter Eggs - Yes! See above.
Family day out - We, we had a couple of afternoons at the park and fed the ducks along the river on Good Friday, so we did manage this one!
Bake Easter cupcakes - We didn't do this :( We'll bake some Spring inspired ones instead.
Picnic in the park - The weather wasn't playing the game for this one lol. It would have been a very cold, windy and wet picnic! April is always a good month for picnics, well, after the showers that is.
Spring clean - Yes. I did this! And organised a bit in the kids room and kitchen and also got rid of a lot of old clothes the kids no longer wear/too small. The windows need doing again though!
Spring flower photo shoot. - Kind of! I managed to take a few pics of flowers :)
Daisy chains - Didn't manage this one. We haven't even enough daisies yet. April showers, bring May flowers!

On Good Friday, with there being no school and the start of the half term, we decided to make the most of the sunny weather and go for a nice walk along the river bank! It's one of favourite places to go for a walk as there is so much to see. It's even better when the weather is mild and sunny! For the first time this year we didn't even need to wear our coats. It was lush.
There's plenty of ducks, swans and geese to be spotted as well as signs of spring. The flowers are starting to bloom! It's such a beautiful time of the year. The kids had a blast feeding the ducks, swans and geese and I had a great time taking photos! Which are slowly improving as I get use to using my bigger camera.
We spotted some old boats, which the kids were fascinated with! When I was little we use to climb in an old boat (I'm not sure if it was this one) but we can't do that any more as the marsh land os very waterlogged! And it actually would be quite dangerous to do that now but still, I enjoyed sharing my memories with my own children! Charlie was truly fascinated and wondered how old the boat actually was!
Hopefully our sunny spring weather comes back throughout the half term so we can go on more adventures!
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and managed to find a break in the weather!

Walking further along the river bank we spotted some flowers! Mainly daffodils and mini daffodils which we just adore! It's such a nice mood setter to see so many signs of spring which will shortly be followed by summer and we can not wait!
We finished our afternoon off by walking to our local shops and buying ice creams! It truly was splendid day and I am very glad we made the most of it. All the weather has done since is rain and we've had very strong winds!
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and managed to find a break in the weather!
