The one with the bluebells.
00:00This weekend it's been quite cold but I was determined we were going to go out for a walk because we're all fed up of being coped up indoors. We went for a wakl around our local woodland, which is only a few minutes walk away from our house. We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area.
It's -what I call- bluebell season. I only wish we'd have gone for our walk a few days sooner, as the bluebells are starting to die off now but they're still very pretty!
The kids loved the sea of purple flowers. It looks so pretty! I feel like pictures dothe floor of purple bluebells no justice. And let me tell you, they smell lovely in the woodland, too! We took some photographs and then headed deeper into the woods for our walk! We actually explored a part of the woods that I haven't been to since I was about eight years old (my daughters age!). The kids LOVED it. They love exploring and I love showing them where I use to play when I was a child. I have many memories in this woodland, going on walks with my siblings and dad. It's nice I get to make these memories with my own children.
Of course, it wouldn't be a walk in the woods without climbing a few old trees and exploring! My children love climbing trees, hehe.
Unfortunately someone has graffitied all over one of the old trees, which is a bit disappointing. Even if the tree is dead. Still thought, we enjoyed our walk.
We also walked down to the pond briefly. At this point we were hurrying on our way home because it was about to pour down with rain and Harry didn't take his coat (because teenagers know best and "I won't need my coat mum") Still I managed to snap a quick pic of the pond!
We had a lovely walk and I'm really hoping the weather warms up a bit soon! We got home just as it started to pour down with rain! Phew. Not that we mind rain, we actually quite like it, if only Harry had of taken his coat! I can't wait to show the kids more places I use to play as a child :)

ReplyDeleteShame about the graffiti but the woodlands looks lovely. Wished I lived near one so I can enjoy such lovely walks
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like truly wonderful woodland walk. How stunning are those bluebells! I'm actually a little jealous as although we have seen bluebells we have never smelt them. It's great to see other kids climbing trees too. So sad that some idiot graffitied that beautiful old tree. #pointshoot #countrykids
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful woods, the bluebells are wonderful right now, our woods is the same, I've been out there with the kids and the goat, seeing your photos I must take the camera with me next time. I do love it when the kids start to really explore and challenge each other to climb trees and enjoy nature. Shame about the graffiti, there is always someone who is disrespectful but glad it didn't spoil your day. I look forward to more from your childhood days. Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids.
