All day Thursday it was so hot! After school the little's wanted to go to the park but we decided it was just too hot for that. So after dinner we went for a walk in the woods instead! The weather had cooled down a bit and it was a gorgeous evening. A stroll through the woods is exactly what we needed. We're very luck to live in such a beautiful area with fields and woodland and lots of a public footpaths! So off we went to explore some more!
We walked past the corn field at hte back of our house, sticking to the public footpath. "It's such good fun living in the countryside" Ellie told me. I'm glad the kids love living in the countryside because I am a country gal! I didn't like living in a big town with hoards of people and nowhere much to walk with non beautiful views. The boys seem to enjoy living here, too! I'm sure that's because there is more space for them to burn off there energy, bless 'em.
The boys also wanted to take a football with them! They do love there football and having a kick about.. Typical boys! Haha.
The kids also found a tree to climb on. I remember when I was young and I use to climb trees in this woodland too! I am so pleased my children get to have that childhood fun that I had.
We also knew there was a rope swing in the woods so we decided to go and have some fun on that. I may or may not have had a little go, haha. So many childhood memories! And now I'm making similar childhood memories for my children to look back on.
After a little while we decided to leave and go home because we were all worn out! We had a wonderful evening! It was a beautiful evening walk and we can;t wait to do it again sometime. We're going to explore the other side of the woods next time! :)

This bank holiday weekend just gone, we decided to make the most of the weather while it's nice. The weather has been quite unpredictable lately, so we though we'd make the most of it!
We decided to take a bus trip to castle park. It's a huge park that has many fields, tree's and a huge play area for the kids. There were also a few bouncy castle's there, too! A few family members tagged a long which was lovely.
The boys of course enjoyed a good ol'e game of football and even Ellie joined in! They like nothing more than playing footy, they are football crazy, bless 'em. And Ellie having two big brothers, she's a huge football fan, too.
My brother took a long a picnic which we all enjoyed. It was very sweet of my brother and his girlfriend. We sat on the bench eating sandwiches and cakes followed by an ice cream (or in Charlie's case, an ice lolly). Just in time to cool them down from all the running around! We also got to feed the squirrels which are so very tame, one was even eating out of Charlie's hand. Ellie was all "Why can't we keep it as a pet.. It can even sleep in my room" Haha. I explained to her we can't keep squirrels as pets as they're wild animals, I think she finally understood lol.
The little's also played on the play area, Ellie enjoyed the sandy play area best, playing in the sand was great fun! Charlie of course preferred the climbing frame while Harry stayed on the field playing football and tag with my brother/Harry's uncle, which he thought was fab.
We finished our day by having a treat - Mcdonalds, which we don't do very often, the kids enjoyed it a lot, they even got a balloon each! On the bus journey home, we were all tired and found it hard to stay awake.
We had a wonderful day and can't wait to go again!
How did you spend your weekend?

On Saturday, Ellie and I spent some time in the garden, enjoying the really nice weather! The boys were spending some time with there dad, which gave Ellie and I to have some time together! As it was such a lovely day I thought we would make the most of the weather.
Ellie wanted to play with her sesame street toys outside in the garden. "They need fresh air" she told me, bless her. I thought I'd snap a few pics! I managed to also read a couple of chapters of my book in the sunshine, while Ellie read her book to her toy friends, aww.
We made some lovely memories playing outside on Saturday! I'm glad we made the most of the really good weather because it's been really wet, cold, rainy and windy today!
Have you had any outdoor playtime recently?

weekly Wednesday.
Gosh, isn't it warm?! It's nice to see the sun though. Here are my reasons to be cheerful and thankful this week.
1) I am having my hair done next week, it needs thinning out so bad. In this heat, it is not ideal to have long, thick, curly hair. I am really looking forward to having my hair done and sorted out for the summer! I haven't had my hair thinned out for a lonnnng time (over a year and a half!) so it needs it badly. I can't wait, hehe.
2) I'm thankful the weather has been really lovely and sunny lately. The sun really does cheer me up. I have a slight tan already just from walking to the shops and school. I'm thankful I tan easy. It's been ever so warm and difficult to sleep at night but there's not a lot that can be done about that, lol.
3) I scolded my hand on Sunday (this isn't a reason to be cheerful or thankful) but it's finally starting to heal and doesn't hurt so much now. Hopefully it'll heal 100% soon, I'm just glad it's not as bad as it was... that burning and stinging pain was something I'd never felt before, it was not at all nice. I'm staying well away from hot cooking oil from now on!!
4) I took Ellie to the park last weekend, it was such a lovely day, way too nice to stay indoors. There was hardly anyone else at the park, it was quiet and peaceful. Ellie and I had a great time, she even got me on the see saw, omdz, did my legs ache the next day LOL, so unfit, haha. It really cheered us up though - getting out of the house :)
What are you reasons to be cheerful this week? You can join in with reasons to be cheerful over at Ojos world.

We walked the long way to the park, stopping at the shop first for a nice cold drink. Ellie was all "Wow, it's so bright and sunny, I'll wear my Frozen hat" (She's obsessed with Frozen).

We got to the park eventually and there was hardly anyone there! Which was quite suprising considering it was such a sunny day. I guess everyone went to the beach instead, lol.
Ellie can almost swing herself on the swings by pushing her legs back wards and forward in motion with the swing. I'm very proud of her.
After the swings, she decided she wanted to 'drive' the train and have a spin on the round about! She also got me on see saw (Oh my goodness, my legs ache today, I am *so* unfit LOL)

It was a really lovely couple of hours at the park. I played with Ellie for a bit, we sat on the bench and had a snack and a drink, I also re-applied more suncream on Ellie. I even had a chance to sit and read my magazine for a little while. It was really lovely. Peaceful too!
How have you been enjoying the weather lately?

Point & Shoot.
LEt kids be kids.
Phew! It's almost Easter. We are really looking forward to Easter in this house.
Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:
1) Easter - Obviously! Haha. We've got an Easter egg hunt planned, the kids are ever so excited about it! I am lucky that we have a huge back garden to do the Easter egg hunt in. I've also got a couple of games planned.. egg and spoon race, who can throw the ball the furthest and so on. It'll be great fun.
2) The weather - I seriously can't believe how warm it's been. Did you know this time last year it was so cold it was almost snowing! This year it's the opposite (thank goodness) - so mild and warm. Yay! It makes all the difference when it's sunny. The kids can play outside and enjoy the sunshine and it puts me in a much brighter mood! We've been to the park this week and had a couple of lovely walks!
3) The weekend - I am really looking forward to the weekend! My brother, SIL and niece are visiting us again this weekend, I am really looking forward to it. :)

The other day we went for a nice walk, it was so sunny and bright, it was also nice and mild, too! I really love Spring!
We spotted lots of flowers and blossom. Ellie really noticed the different, new leaves and buds appearing on trees but I think the blossom was Ellie's favourite!
My personal favourite is the tulips, I really love them! They are so beautiful and always make me smile!
Harry was the first one to enter the meadow, we haven't been there for a few weeks because it's been quite muddy. (Although I did go on my own a couple of weeks ago, it's s short cut I often take). Harry couldn't believe the difference "Wow, look it's all green, there's no mud!" And Ellie, who LOVES the willow tree, was like "Oh my goodness it's all green again!!!" We spent quite a bit of time last year playing under the willow tree! There's something a little bit magical about Willow trees, especially to the kids, hehe.
The last couple of days have been a little unpredictable weather wise, hopefully we can get out in the sunshine again soon!

It's not been a bad week this week (touch wood). It's gone quite fast to be honest. So here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:
1) Easter - The kids break up for school tomorrow! It'll be a well needed rest. A break from doing school uniforms, packed lunches and the rushing around. More importantly though, I get to spend some much needed time with the kids without having to rush around and what not. I'm not sure what we're going to do over the Easter holidays but I'm sure it'll be fun! A trip to the beach, perhaps? As long as it's not raining.
2) Park - The other day after school, we went to the park after school! It was really warm. I was wearing jeans and way far too hot! I hope that's a sign that summer is just around the corner. The kids had a great time at the park, they saw some of there school friends there, too! :) It really does make all the difference to get out of the house!
3) I'm doing good on this whole 'Gluten' free thing. My belly isn't as bloated and I feel much, much better! It sucks that I can't have foods I'd usually eat but I am really just overall feeling much healthier.
4) Mothers day - I had a lovely mothers day! I got a lovely surprise from moonpig, a nice bunch of pretty flowers, a lovely personalised card, some sweets and some pampering goodies from the kids! Harry also had brought me a few little bits, a very sweet little teddy & some other little bits and a nice card! I was totally spoiled! Charlie & Ellie got me something, too! Ellie decorated a flower pot at school and planted a flower inside it for me. Awww ♥ I feel so lucky & blessed.

After school we decided to go to the park. The park isn't too far from the school and it's a pleasant walk. We took the football with us so the kiddies could have a kick around with the ball. Some of there friends were at the park so they got to play football with them and play on the play area, too!
I even made a friend. We kind of. A lovely lady was talking to me while the kids all played together. We talked about random stuff, mostly about kids. It was really nice to have some company while the little ones played. I'm sure we'll see her again :) I didn;t get many photos because I was too busy talking, LOL. And I only had my phone with me.
I hope we have nice weather again soon so we can go to the park again! The kiddies also really want to go to the beach (we don't live far from the beach), maybe in the Easter hols? Praying for sunshine and warm weather!!

Phew! It has been a busy half term and thankfully we had some really lovely weather! Lots of sunshine and blue skies and it was really quite mild, too, which meant we had plenty of time outside in the fresh air!
On Wednesday we went to feed the ducks & swans and for a nice walk. We actually ended up at the park. It was a good day.
First we went for a picnic along the river bank and admired the view. The tide was out but it was still a pretty view. Charlie was facinated with the boats! Across the other side of the water runs a train track, we saw many trains go past, too!
We walked along the river bank and there were so many swans, luckily we gave them the left overs of the picnic, Ellie was like "They're bigger than I am!!!" Haha, they are huge... and greedy, too, lol. They tried to take the food out of Charlies hand so we moved a long. They are such beautiful creatures. We crossed the road to the duc pond... the swans followed holding up the traffic and then proceeded to follow us thinking that we had more food, haha.
We walked around the corner, where there is a farm park but we didn't go in. None of us had welly boots and what not so we just admired the animals from the fence. We saw geese, chickens, horses and turkeys! Such fun. Across the road from the farm park is a park so we went and had fun on the park. Well, the kids did, I just sat on the bench taking photos and watching them have fun, hehe.
On the way back we stopped at the fish pond, which has a very pretty water fountain! We looked for the fish but couldn't see any. My guess is, it's the wrong time of year for fish lol. We'll go back again when the weather is warmer.
It was a great day! Lets hope spring is in the very near future so we can have more days like that!

Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week..
1) The weather has been really lovely here. Blue skies and sunshine! It has been a bit chilly and certainly had it's dull moments but to be honest, I'm just pleased to see the sun, even if it isn't for very long.
2) The kids have settled back into school really well. All three of them have gone up a reading shelf, yay! So proud of them all.
3) I am really lucky to have a very good best friend who lives just over the road from me. I really needed her last week when we had the kitten put to sleep, she was right there with me. I feel blessed to have such a great friend.
