I've been looking through old photos of the kids when they were tiny. My goodness how much they have grown. The photos on the left are from 2009 and the ones on the left are from now.


I can't believe how much they have grown and quick time has gone! It's crazy isn't it?! Harry, my eldest will be a teenager next year, Charlie will be starting high school and Ellie will be in year four. Seriously HOW is that even possible?! Gosh.
Not only have they changed but my photo taking skills have improved. A LOT. Haha.

Gosh, this week is dragging, it seems to be going SO slow. I just need it to be the weekend already.

On Sunday I woke up feeling a little offish and just not myself. By mid afternoon I was feeling sick and dizzy, followed by vomiting. I wasn't sure if it was something I'd eaten or if I had a tummy bug. Monday morning rolled around and I figured it was a stomach bug. Charlie was also sick, ten minutes before we left for school. Poor kiddo. We spent the day just relaxing and me looking after Charlie. I hate it when the kids are sick because I feel so incredibly helpless. Thankfully he was only sick twice. Both times before 9am and as the day went on, he felt a lot better. I was so relieved he didn't have that nasty bug as bad as I appeared to have caught it.

I woke up yesterday feeling a lot better but had a stuffy nose and sore throat. I ignored it to be honest and just put it down to being so ill for a couple of days and be but as the day went on and as last night approached I felt very rough and my ears started to hurt run down. I now have a full blown cold and temperature, along with a very achy body and even my face aches. As much as I love this time of year, I really don't appreciate the colds and bugs that come along with it. I seem to catch everything going, my immune system really is not good.

On a better note. Harry's trying out to join the school (or rather his year -7-) football team. He's enjoying the practice and training during a couple of lunch times a week! He's already in the rugby team! I don't know where he gets his sportyness from but I am super proud of him!
Ellie got star of the week for being so helpful and making a big effort with her work, which I'm really pleased and proud about and thankfully Charlie is feeling A LOT better now and has a mini school trip this morning, which he is excited about. I'm so thankful they're such good kids. They really do make me smile.


Another really cool thing that's happened this week is that, I won a competition for a Kawaii box a few weeks back and it finally arrived yesterday. All the way from Singapore. It's full of Kawaii stationary! I just love it. Oh and some sweets, too.

I also ordered the kids PJs for Christmas (which will be opened on Christmas eve) and they are SO cute. I'll write a whole other blog post on those! I also bought a couple of stocking fillers for Ellie yesterday. I've made a small start on Christmas which makes me happy. I still need to write a list of everything! I'll do that when I feel a bit better though.

So that's the best and worst of this week (so far). Hopefully the next couple of days fly by! We can have a nice chilled out weekend, without having to worry about school routines, uniforms, lunches... the list is endless!

Yellowmoon sent us these Star Glitter Wands Kits to review. Ellie was super excited because she loves being creative and she loves glitter, so this wand kit was a huge hit with her.




Each kit has four kits to make four stars wands.

4 assorted colours (red, blue, orange and purple)
A foam star shape, some tony foam self adhesive squares.
Ribbon
And a stick.
Instructions are also included.
Priced at £3.75.

You will also need some PVA glue for sticking the stick onto the back of the wand.


 Ellie took out her foam star shape, she picked purple as purple is her favourite colour. She then began sticking on the glitter squares. The back the squares just peel off, making them easy to stick onto the star template. Ellie had trouble doing this and she found it really quite fun!

After about ten minutes, she has finished decorating her star, she asked me to help her tie the ribbons onto the stick. "Io looks like a Christmas star" She told. And yes, they are quite festive for Christmas and new year too, perhaps! 

Once we'd tied on the ribbon, it was time to stick the stick onto the back of the star. We used PVA glue and waited for that to dry. I thought we'd best secure it wish a square of cellotape, which Ellie also thought wasa good idea "just in case the star fall off when I wave it around" Ellie said.

That's it. The star wand was finished. "It's so sparkly and cool" is how Ellie described it. The approximate size of the star wand when finished is 30cm.


 In my opinion they are well worth the money, kept Ellie busy for a good twenty minutes with very little help from me and no mess! Definitely a winner all around. These would also make a lovely gift, a stocking filler maybe.

I would definitely recommend these to any child who enjoys being creative! Please note, these kits are aged 3+

I haven't wrote a 'reasons to be cheerful' post for a while now. And I should really get back into it because it always use to lift my mood and I'd feel much more positive. So here are my reasons to be cheerful this week.

1) Autumn makes me happy! We had a fabulous October. October is my absolute favourite month. I love this time of year, a lot. I'm thankful the weather has been quite mild.
We've had such great fun, throwing leaves in the air, feeding the ducks and geese and of course Halloween! Not to mention my eldest child turned twelve years old. Which is just crazy.

2) I've made a very small start on Christmas shopping, I've bought a few stocking fillers so far. Which isn't much but it is a start. I've also started my Christmas food box, too. Asda have some fab deals on at the moment! I do need to find my Christmas decorations and see what I'll need to buy this year. We moved house at the start of this year and I know a few bits and bobs got broken/damaged during the move.

3) My children make me so, so happy! I love them so much and I am so proud of them. They're all doing amazingly at school and have settled into the school routine really well. I thought it might take a couple of weeks after half term, it appears not. They've really just kind of clicked right back into it. Better than I have in fact. I do not like early mornings, haha. I'm so glad they're back into the school routine, it makes life easier :)
