On Friday, we put up our Christmas tree! We are all very excited for Christmas this year and putting up the Christmas tree as a family always makes us feel festive. We decorated the tree in red, rose gold and gold this year. I snapped a few pics over the weekend. I need to snap a few photos of t he boys standing by the Christmas tree but with them being teenagers, it has to be on there terms... Of course, haha. So far the cats have not tried to climb the tree although they're fascinated with the baubles.





I feel like I need add some more baubles and what not to our tree, which I may do today!

I thought I would share some photos I've taken of my cats lately.
They are both female cats and neither of them I planned on getting, they found me and choose us. Isn't it strange how cats pick there owners?
Lotti (the tortoiseshell cat) came to me at 4 weeks old and was literally handed over my back fence from an old neighbour because they didn't want her. I couldn't just let them leave her outdoors, on her own. She was so tiny and very poorly. There's so much I could write. Me and Lotti are very, very close. She sleeps on my actual head every night, I am not even joking.

Sylvie. The tabby cat had an owner but she just kept coming to my house and would sit by my back door, tapping it with her poor for HOURS. I kept taking her back to her owner and trying to persaude her to go home but she was having none of it. She would wait outside int he freezing cold and snow, rain and wind for me to let her inside. I finally admitted defeat and her owner said we could keep her as long as she had a good home. So that is what we did and she has been here ever since. Goodness knows why she picked our crazy family to be her humans, haha. You can read Syvlie's story here.

The first time Lotti saw a pheasant! Don't worry, she didn't harm it (I knew she wouldn't, the bird was double the size of her). She was fascinated with it. The pheasant turned around looked at her, made a noise and Lotti ran away, hahaha and the bird flew off! She loves living in the countryside.

I am seriously so crazy about cats! I can't even tell you. If I had it my way I would have a hundred cats, I just love them and I can't get enough. We have two cats, one called Lotti and one called Sylvie. Lotti is three years old and we think Sylvie is probably slightly younger, we don't really know because Sylvie adopted us! Her owners didn't really tell me very much when she agreed to let us keep the cat (we had no choice in the matter - the cat choose us and that was that!)
Both our cats are sterilized and micro chipped and are in great health! We love them so very much.

We have a huge corn field out the back of our house, which the cats just love to explore!



I love my fur babies so much! They truly are a part of our family.

She's sooooo purrrrrdy, now I really want another kitten.... Uh-oh.

 I recently read the cat rescue diaries on my kindle. I love reading animal tales, especially cats because, well, I am cat crazy! I can't even remember how long I've had this book on my kindle, I have just had zero time to read but once I started reading, I couldn't put it down, hehe.
I loved these short stories which were all true. Each story told the story of how people came about having there cats, rescuing them or cats adopting them. Needless to say, it really didn't take me very long to read this book. It's a truly lovely book, each story had a lovely ending!

Before we moved house (almost a month ago!) we had a cat that kept coming to our house and just would not leave. I even tried to encourage her to go home, I even TOOK her back home but no, she wasn't having any of it. She just kept coming back. She'd sneak inside the house when I wasn't paying attention and hide and then suddenly appear from nowhere at midnight. For some crazy reason she decided she wanted us to be her humans, goodness knows why, our house is rather chaotic, haha. She just took to us straight away. I really had no say in the matter. This went on for about six months - with her coming and going like she lived with us, sleeping at ours and eating all our cats food. Well, before we moved I was obviously quite worried about leaving her behind and by this point we'd all really taken to the cat.

Anyway, I knew the right thing to do was to speak to the cats owners. So that's what I did. I had a polite chat with the cats owner (who was very nice!) and explained I was moving and that her cat seemed to have adopted us and just wouldn't leave, I was concerned the cat would become a stray - something I just couldn't bear even thinking about. The lady told me that she had tried to encourage the cat to come back to her, but the cat was having none of it. She also said that she thought the cat had adopted someone else. She told me we could keep the cat and take her with us if I was willing to do that, she was fine with it as long as the kitty had a good home. I had to say yes, I couldn't bear to leave the kitty behind! So that' exactly what we did.

She's spoiled rotten and she fits in so perfectly with us. She always has, right from day one. It's rather bizarre to be honest. We love her so, so much. Her name is Sylvie, she's around two years old, she's such a loving cat and so affectionate! Sylvie loves the kids, especially Ellie. She's also been sterilized just like Lotti has. I still have no idea why she chose us but they do say - Cats choose there owners, you don't choose them, that is SO true.


Our cat 'Lotti' has never got on with other cats. She did get on with our kitten, Lenni after a few months, sadly he passed away in January 2014. Anyway Lotti did start to tolerate Sulvie. After six + months though, she has come to terms with the fact Sylvie lives with us and they've recently (within the last few days) started playing together. I don't think they could actually be without each other now. Sylvie just fits in so purrrrfectly with us and we couldn't possibly bear to be without her she is definitely a huge part of our family, as is our other cat, Lotti.

Petshopbowl sent me the 'Hills Ideal Balance Adult Chicken & Brown Rice Dry Cat Food' for my cat to test and try!
Before I had even managed to take the bag out of the box, my cat jumped into the box and was sniffing the cat food out. I honestly couldn't get it out fast enough for her. My cat is a small cat, she's always been this way (we think she was perhaps the runt of the litter). She is also a very fussy eater. I have to swap and change her cat food all the time. However, she thoroughly enjoyed these biscuits.



The Hills Ideal Balance Adult Chicken & Brown Rice Dry Cat Food have a very balanced nutrition value, they are made with the very finest ingredients including fresh chicken and brown rice, making these biscuits very healthy for cats. There is no added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, which in my opinion is really great!


The packaging is handy, too! The bag has a zip lock on it, which makes it air tight and easy to keep the food fresh.

My cat, 'Lotti' managed to make a hole in the bag while I was out one day (despite her having a bowl full of these biscuits), I came home to find her tucking into the bag, lol. I managed to patch the bag up perfectly, so no harm done. I must remember to keep the bag out of paws reach, haha.

Priced at £32.99 (currently £29.69 - at the time of writing this post) for a 4kg bag is quite reasonable. It lasts ages, my cat has been eating a small bowl every day for two weeks and we still have rather a lot left! It works out cheaper to buy a bigger bag of cat biscuits like this, than it does keep buying small bags. And another plus is, she actually EATS this food and it has so many health benefits for my kitty and I really can't put a price on that.
