The one where we have a picnic in London.

We visited family in Liverpool this summer. We had to get the coach there which went through London. I'm not really sure if I should admit this but I have never been to London (Well I have been thru London on a tube but I've never actually 'seen London), shocking, I know... especially as I only live 70 odd miles from London. The littles and I were ever so excited to see some of London, even if it was only thru a coach window.
(The above photos aren't the best quality, they were taken on a point and shoot thru the coach window)
We saw the London eye, Big Ben, the river Thames, houses of parliment and so on. It was AWESOME!!
When we got off the coach, we had a bit of a wait for next coach, to take as to Liverpool. We decided we'd take our picnic to Victoria Park in central London and eat our lunch. It was also really nice to stretch our legs for a bit and for the kids to burn off some energy. I can not get over how big London is. OR how busy it is! It was such good fun though. The kids really enjoyed a picnic in London. We of course did a bit of site seeing, some buildings and what not, it was a great way to kill time while we were waiting for our next coach.
I wish we'd had more time to look around and do more sight seeing, that would have been awesome. We just didn't have enough time though. At least it gives us a good excuse to go back (And save up some pennies first!).
Have you ever visited London? What places would you recommend us visiting next time we go back there?

ReplyDeleteLondon is such a great place to visit. I have fond memories of days out in London as a child. I am planning to take my kids for the 1st time in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to London.....I live up in the North East so it's a bit of a trek....lol I would love to visit though x
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to see in London that the children would really enjoy, The Natural History Museum (free entry) and The London Aquarium off the top of my head! There is such a buzz about the city and so much going on. Great photos and I hope you had a lovely visit in Liverpool. Thanks for linking and sharing with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from ClairJustine, and I enjoyed your blog! A number of years ago we visited London, and would highly reccomond just about everything, but we especially loved the tower of London, and Churchill's Bunker! I blog about my travels, and hope you will stop by for a visit!
