Time to fly a kite!
21:05A couple of weeks ago, while we were in Liverpool, we decided to take the kids to fly there kites that they bought from the shop at Speke Hall. It wasn't THAT windy but it was quite breezy. It took a few attempts for the kids to get the hang of it. Although, they have flown kites before, it was much easier because we were on a VERY windy beach, which made it easier.
Once they got the hang of it though, they thought it was really great fun and loved running along with the kite to try and catch the breeze! It was great fun watching them, bless.
They were so proud of themselves once the kite was flying high in the sky! The kites almost got tangled together at one point. I wish my battery on my phone hadn't of died so I could have taken more photos. Actually, I should have taken my camera but forgot. Never mind.
It was really good fun, the kids had a wonderful time, as did I. It's really something all the family can join in on. They also had fun trying to catch the tail of the kite while it was high up in the sky, jumping and reaching for it, aww.
Such fun.
I am so proud of them for persevering with it and learning to fly a kite! Charlie was like "It's an achievement" and he's right, it was! :)
How have you been enjoying the summer lately?

I used to love flying kites as a kid, there was a nice big playing field in front of my house, it was great.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a lot of fun and it is really nice that Charlie thought it was an achievement.
