Curlilocks and the Big Bad Hairbrush {Childrens book review}
09:38Last year we reviewed Curlilocks and the three pink pandas, by Yolanda King. We were so excited to find out that the curlilocks series continues with 'Curlilocks and the Big Bad Hairbrush'. We were asked if we'd like to review the kindle edition of this book and I just couldn't say no because I knew how excited Ellie would be to read the follow up.
Curlilocks delivers pies to her three aunties. She finds is very tempting to have a nibble on each pie but her big hair brush warns her about nibbling her aunties pies. Will Curlilocks listen?
Ellie, my eight year old daughter, had hardly any trouble reading this story to me! The story kept her engrosed and she was excited turning each page to find out what happens next.
Curlilocks put the pies in her red wagon and off she goes to deliver them!
"Savory or sweet, the aunties love their treats but if you eat that pie, the aunties will ask you why" Says the big hairbrush each time Curlilocks wants to eat the pies!
"Curlilocks shouldn't eat the pies, there for her aunties". Ellie told me.
When Curlilocks arrives at her aunties homes, they ask her what happened to the pies, Curlilocks lies each time and as a result her hair grows bigger and bigger... and bigger!
"She should just tell them the truth!!" Ellie said "And then her hair wouldn't keep getting bigger".
I love the moral of this story - To tell the truth! Ellie also realised this, too.
This was a really lovely story, Ellie was interested all the way through the book, which is beautifully illustrated with bright pictures. We read the story before bed and I think this might be another new favourite bedtime story.
You can purchase the kindle edition of Curlilocks and the Big Bad Hairbrush on amazon.
What's your child(ren) favourite story? Or what was your favourite story when you were little?
