The best & worst of September.
00:00I decided I'd write a post on all the good things and all the bad things of September. It's been a bit of a chaotic month to be honest with you. I do try to keep my blog positive and I know the positives will out weight the negatives! I've seen a lot of people write 'Best & Worst' posts and it's inspired me to do the same.
We started off September with the kids going back to school. Ellie starting in year 3, Charlie in year 6 -his final year of primary school- (Still can't believe that!) and Harry of course started high school! They are growing up SO fast! I can't express how proud of them I am. I truly am so, so proud. I'm really pleased to say they have settled in wonderfully. They are all doing wonderful at school (touch wood) and Harry is enjoying high school, although he isn't a fan of the early mornings! Who is though?
September was also the month that Ellie turned EIGHT years old. My youngest child. Eight years old. Madness. She had a lovely birthday! It was stressful for me, nothing went right on that day and it was a bit blah! Didn't help that I was coming down with a cold/flu type thing. The main thing is though, she had a fantastic Birthday and really enjoyed her little tea party and seeing friends and family. It was lovely!
I also have had a bit stress in my personal life going on but it's settled down now (again, touch wood!) and I'm relaxing a bit more. Anxiety has struck me a lot this month too but hopefully that's subsided now too. Anxiety is a horrible thing and I find it really hard to control and deal with. I've been reading a few blogs though and I know I'm not alone. It's just hard, you know?
On a more positive note, we have really enjoyed the Autumn weather. The kids have been loving playing out in the garden and we've been on a couple of lovely walks! I watched a beautiful sunset (more than once!).
We have also enjoyed playing board games - mainly dog bingo, which is an awesome family game to play! That everyone loves. The little's enjoyed doing Autumnal arts & crafts, I may have joined in too, I'm such a big kid, haha.
Overall it hasn't been THAT bad of a month. Just a bit stressful here and there. I really do love this time of year and we have lots to look forward to in October! My eldest will be turning twelve years old! We have half term and Halloween to look forward to and of course the beautiful Autumnal weather.
How was your September?

Lots happening for your September. Sounds like it was a really busy month, hopefully your personal life is doing ok but your kids are gorgeous and great they've settled back into school so well! I think September is a hectic month when kids go back to school!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are just gorgeous :)

What a lovely & thoughtful post... I love September too and I always think of it as that in-between month where it's neither summer nor autumn. I'm really enjoying our glorious sunny weather down here in Cornwall :)
ReplyDeleteAww, sounds like lots of ups and downs for you. The important thing is to stay positive, make up your mind that you won't allow anything to defeat you and keep your head up. Anxiety is a bit rubbish but you'll be ok. Kids looking smart in their uniforms. Bless them X
ReplyDeleteAww sound like some definite bests and worsts. All bests for the kids which is great! Sorry to hear you had a stressful party and some anxiety has flared up. So common now but the blogging community is so good for support. I love you pictures as well; beautiful children. Thanks so much for sharing with #bestandworst and would love to see you again xx
ReplyDeleteMy youngest two are in year 3 and year 6 too. There are sorts of emotions going on isn't there? I love the autumn as it brings such lovely weather that isn't too hot to enjoy.Bring on October!
ReplyDeleteIt's scary how quickly they grow up isn't it. Dog bingo sounds like good fun. I'm going to go have a look for it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sunset! We have been plagued by back to school colds too. Took us all ages to get rid of it.
ReplyDeleteHope things settle down for you. September is a big month isn't with back to school being a big part of that.
ReplyDeleteAs you say, i think the positives of your month definitely outweigh the negatives. Your three look so cute in their uniform and i'm so pleased to hear they're all doing so well. My eldest starts 'big' school next year and while i'm dreading it (for no reason other than my pure selfishness) he's so excited and ready for to go. I think September is naturally a stressful month with 'back to school' but hopefully October will be a calmer one for you xxx
ReplyDeleteAwww we had massive milestones in September hun. My eldest started school, youngest turned 1 and started Nursery. Its been crazy for us. xx
ReplyDeleteActually sounds like your September was pretty good! I think we've all been struck down with an autumn cold :( hope you have a lovely October xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a largely positive month, and you've shared some gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteYou children are adorable! I love the pictures! As a person who battles anxiety off and on again, I'll tell you once again, " you are not alone." Awesome job battling through it with a positive outlook. Great blog and love the honest post! https://smilingawayfoodallergies.wordpress.com
