Making Mermaid Peg Dolls.
12:12
Each kit contains 4 pegs and assorted self adhesive felt shapes and accessories to decorate and make mermaids using wooden pegs. The kits also contain yarn aka mermaid hair. You will also need either glue dots or pva glue.
We started off with putting the clothes shapes on the wooden pegs, adding in the face and gluing on the hair. Ellie needed a little bit of help gluing the hair on.
"These are going to look so pretty and magical" Ellie told me. She was ever so excited making her mermaid look pretty and sparkly. Charlie also joined in and made a mermaid! They really took there time on these to make them look neat and "fantastical" (Ellie's words).
Charlie and Ellie couldn't wait to put the tail on and add gems and pearls to there hair! "I wish I could wear stick on pearls in my hair" Ellie said, haha.
They really did enjoy making these mermaids and Ellie couldn't wait to play with hers! She sat for ages playing and making up games to play with the mermaids. The green one is of course "Ariel".
The foam self adhesive stickers are really easy to peel off and stick onto the pegs! The glittery tail is really cute!
This is such a lovely activity for children, it keeps them happy and entertained and is a really good creativity task they can do by themselves (although Ellie did need a little help with gluing the hair on). And it's not at all messy! That's my kind of art & craft project ;)
The mermaid peg doll kits are aged 5+ and I also think they would make a lovely rainy day activity and the perfect gift, too!

These are so cute! I love getting crafty, but it's also important that kids can be creative as well. xx
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I have yet to meet a child who doesn't like arts and crafts, it's such a great way to spend time and then the kids have something they can play with after. :)
