Everybody's cool going back to school! #LoudNProud

This week, like many, my children went back to school! After six weeks off for Summer, they were more than ready for school. I however, was not, haha. It's nice to get back into the school routine but my goodness I miss the kids!
Harry, my eldest started high school this week. Which is really, really hard to believe. I honestly... I can't even explain how emotional I was when he walked out of the house on the first day of high school! Of course, I enjoy watching him become a teenager and learning lots of new things, independence being the main but I'm sad at the same time. My baby boy is growing up, he'll be a teenager soon enough and then a young man. It's bittersweet watching him grow up.
He really is enjoying high school a lot. Harry was naturally a little bit nervous on thenight before but fine the next morning! He loves all of his teachers, he's in most classes with his best friend and he has already made a few new friends! He's ever so tired by the time bedtime rolls around, I expect it will take some getting use to.. As will the homework!
I am so proud of him!
Charlie started his last year of primary school. Erm, WHAT?! How is he in his last year of primary school? It feels like only yesterday that he started school. That's crazy. Charlie wasn't overly excited about going back to school, the reason being was because Harry wasn't there. He has always had Harry close by! Back in April when they started there new primary school, year 5 and 6 were in the same class. As you can imagine without Harry being there Charlie felt kind of lost. Needn't worry though - he soon settled in and goes off to school quite happy now. He adapted really well!
Super proud of him, too!
Ellie started in year three and let me tell you! SHE WAS SO EXCITED! She has the same teacher as last year, which has helped because she really doesn't like it when she has a new teacher. She met up with her friends in playground and left me sitting on the bench alone! Bless her. I'm glad she's settled down well. I was a bit worried we'd have tears as she is so close to me and six weeks is a long time to not be at school (well, a long time when you're only 7!) Can't believe she's going to be turning eight years old next week! Madness.
I'm so proud of her!
How have your children settled into school? Are they enjoying it so far? :)

Good luck to them all in the new school year
ReplyDeleteMine's in for the first time in reception and it seems to be going well. He refused to do any straight photos, let alone holding anything. Bet your eldest two weren't keen? #loudnproud
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy getting back into the school routine is it? I'm struggling with those mornings! My youngest's last year at primary too this year - can't believe it. Where is the time going?! Glad your eldest is enjoying his first week of High School. All change. Thanks for linking up to #loudnproud
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that they have all settled well. My boys are happy to be back, and their little sister started preschool this week, which is going well so far :) #loudnproud
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos and so glad that your three have all settled in well. It must be very strange for Charlie not having Harry there too - glad that he is adjusting well to it though. #loudnproud
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos. My son went to high school 2 years ago and it seems they grow up before your eyes over night. Hope he is settling into high school with all the homework that tends to come with it x
ReplyDeleteLoving these super cute portraits! They're something that'll be great to look back on over the years x

ReplyDeleteGreat photos! My two are loving being back at school although I think they miss the holidays too.
ReplyDeleteAw lovely signs you make for them and lots of milestones this year- not least starting high school! Sounds like they are all doing brilliantly though! x
ReplyDeleteAwwww those are great pictures. It's amazing how fast children grow up. I can't believe my oldest nephew is going to be 9 this year. X
ReplyDeleteHope they are all still enjoying it! Glad Harry is getting on well. Staring High School is a huge milestone. My daughter started Primary School last week and she is enjoying it. Not sure how she'll feel on Friday as this will be her first full week. They grow up far too quickly! Thanks for linking up! x

oh my goodness, my lo is only 2 but it does feel like time is just flying by. it would be interesting to see her when she starts school but even though that's not happening just yet, i already feel a bit emotional when i think about it. :) #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteWhat great starting school photos. Lots of big changes going on for your three too. High school is such a big step but I do think the parents do notice it more than the children. A very big sign of growing up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)

Lovely portraits of the kids at their first day. Something to look back at. Tears running down you. :'( Sound like they've been coping really well. You must be a very proud mama. My little 4 years old Ethan is taking it slow and still trying to find his little feet. #PointShoot
ReplyDeleteFab back to school photos, I love seeing all the sparkly clean uniforms and smiley faces
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Point + Shoot xx
