Playing nerf wars in the garden!
00:00Now the nights are getting darker earlier and the weather is getting cooler faster, we thought we would make the most of the early evening! The kids really wanted to get there nerf guns out (which they have received as Xmas presents/Birthday presents over the last couple of years) and play with them. I think nerf guns are best played outdoors and with supervision. Last year, I almost got hit in the eye with a nerf bullet so I have told the kids to point them low and not aim at people! Which they do and it is SO much fun trying to dodge and run away from them. A couple of the boys friends came around with there nerf guns too (they live next door and a few doors up from us). So they had a nice mix of toys to swap and use. It's nice to see them actually play with there toys for once!
It's a great way for the kids to burn energy and after half an hour they were all ready to come in for a bath and get ready for bed! These Autumn evenings are exhausting apparently.
I love this time of year and I am so glad the kids are making the most of playing out doors while its still nice out! I enjoyed sitting out there watching (supervising!) them enjoy themselves, it was fun!
I was also soaking up this beautiful sky view!

I am so looking forward to evenings like this when my girls are older. As a kid I remember staying out until 9pm and it was still light. I am probably remembering my childhood through rose tinted glasses but I can't wait for my children to have those memories too.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great way to burn off excess energy. Xx
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures :) I think it's brill that kids can still be out, it's hard to burn up all that energy without outdoor time. The weather has been so great the last few days, I can hear all the kids on the street out and about in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteBoys will be boys! Classic fun and I agree, best outdoors, I'm fed up of nerf gun bullets around the house! #PointShoot
ReplyDeleteMust say, I think Nerf are great for kids. It gets them outdoors in a world that has created so many indoor lures! Great post.

It looks like they were having a fab time. We used to do the same with water pistols... No hunting for bullets in the long grass then!
ReplyDeletelooks like the kids have had a fantastic time. My kids love being outside and I love playing outside on lovely evenings. Its great for the kids as they wear themselves out running about so bonus he he. xx
ReplyDeleteAh ALL the kids of the road have these, they do my head in lol. Not looking forward to the dark nights, they're slowly creeping in. They look like they're have a ball :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sunset. It's so lovely when the kids can get outside and just play altogether.

They look great fun and definitely for the outdoors. They say this weather will continue for a couple of weeks yet so hopefully a little longer to enjoy the fun :)

ReplyDeleteMy 8 year old loves his nerf guns. He has almost all of them! He plays the nerf gun wars with his dad on the weekends. It is a great energy burner. Your kids look like they had a lot of fun. thanks for sharing! Visiting from #themadmidweekbloghop
ReplyDeleteMaking beautiful memories and bonding with siblings, I love those sort of evenings! I remember similar late nights with family water balloon fights, so much fun! Glad they understand to shoot downward as I'm always concerned about those guns, but looking forward to when my boys are bigger so I can play this sort of thing with them! I love being a kid!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather :) x
Aw so sweet I never played Nerf Wars but the bond between children is often magical. However as the weather is getting colder it is a bit chilly to play nerf wars.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been lovely recently hasn't it. Looks like great fun was to be had! :) Great photos xx
ReplyDeleteMy eldest son loved his Nerf guns a couple of years ago - losing the bullets drove me nuts! Great photos. Kaz x
ReplyDeleteThis looks so much fun! Bob isn't interested in anything like this but now we have a boy my husband is looking forward to seeing less dolls and more nerd guns! :) xx

ReplyDeleteOh wow that sunset is amazing!!! This looks like so much fun! Nerf guns are definitely not just for children haha. When Jamie and I first started dating (at the grand old age of 22) we bought some nerf guns and had a fight around the house, it was brilliant fun! Although then it started to get a bit too far and over the course of the next fortnight you'd be making breakfast and suddenly get pinged in the head! So annoying. What a brilliant afternoon for your kids though burning off some energy and having a laugh.Thank you for linking this post to #whatevertheweather x
ReplyDeleteNerf guns will give you a safe and fun alternative to play war games with your friends. Although it’s not an educational toy, it can teach children the way to handle guns in a very playful manner and without getting any hurt.
