Lately, the kids have got a couple of certificates each.

Ellie has been learning about food hygiene and different types of food, which she has thoroughly enjoyed. She also got a lovely certificate as a reward for learning so much!



Ellie has also been very helpful at lunchtime on the playground and been kind to everyone, again she got a really sweet certificate for this. I think it's such a lovely gesture to reward children for good and helpful behaviour :) Ellie is very proud and I am very proud of her, too.



Charlie recieved this wonderful certificate for his amazing effort and for putting in so much commitment to his school work. I am really proud of him. :)






I would share Harry's certificate but he#s left it at school (again), he also got a certificate for acheiving twenty five merits! That's quite an achievement, don't you agree? I am super proud of him, too!

I am really pleased that my children are doing so well in school, they all seem to make a huge effort with there school work and being kind to others.

The other week I wrote about how the boys have made progress at school & how I went to parents evening. Well today I wanted to talk about Ellie and how well she's been progressing in year one.

Ellie's reading has come a long SO well! She can read all of her sight words now and all of her reading book on her own.

This time last year, she could only regonise letters and sound out two letter words "it" "is" etc. Now she can read words like "children" and "happen". I am so pleased with her! We have been doing a lot of extra reading at home, it helps when she has books that she can (mostly) read herself! When she can read books herself, it encourages her to read more. She's a right little book worm, hehe.

I'm not sure when her parents evening is but I know that she has made a lot of progress. She can add and subtract numbers and she can pick out the highest and lowest numbers out of a group. I'm really proud of how well she's learning.

I do think we need to work on her not skipping letters when sounding out words though, I think sometimes she rushes, I'm sure we can work on that though!

I am so proud of my little's, they're learning and growing up so fast!

We were asked if we'd like to review Mr Tubmbles big book of counting.
Ellie, my six year old daughter loves Mr Tumble!


Ellie couldn't wait to count along with Mr Tumble's Big Book Book Of Counting.
She counted from one to five, admiring each page and could even read some of the words herself! I already know that she can count to five (she's 6 years old, so she can count a lot further than 5) but what I really, really love about this book is the fact that Ellie can try to read it herself. I love encouraging my children to read and count! This book is right up up our street and because Ellie loves Mr Tumble so much, it certainly got her attention, hehe.

The book is hard back book and perfect for little fingers to turn to the pages!
There's also flaps to be lifted on each page which makes the book very intriguing for children. Every page is bright and colourful and there's even an opportunity to trace over each number, which is great because we've been working on writing numbers the right way around! 
It also rhymes and have to guess who's hiding under each flap. Ellie especially like's number four because 'Grandad Tumble' is hiding under the flap. Grandad Tumble is Ellie's favourite, aww.

It's a great, fun book to read, with Ellie trying to read some of the words herself! Also learning her numbers from 1 to 5, being able to trace over them and guessing who is under each flap. This book definitely makes learning fun. 

I feel that this book is perfect for children who are just starting to learn numbers and learning to write numbers. It's also a lovely book for children to try and read themselves and perfect for any Mr Tumble fan.

Harry's Birthday is fast approaching. He's going to be TEN years old. A whole decade. I can not believe that my little baby boy, my first born is doing to be ten years old. Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with him. *sigh* Time goes too fast and the kids are growing up waaaayyy to fast for my liking. It's bittersweet watching them grow up and becoming more independent. Harry is very independent for his age. He likes to everything for himself. Which isn't a bad thing I guess but sometimes, just sometimes I miss him asking me to tie his shoe laces or un-do the lid from the juice bottle. (If only he'd tidy his room himself LOL!). At the same time though, it's nice to be able to look back and see how much he has grown up, learned and how much he can do these little things for himself but it doesn't mean I don't miss doing all those things for him. Being a mum to a tween is all new to me. With Harry being the eldest, obviously I haven't been a mum to a tween. It's a totally new experience to me. 

Gosh, I can never think of witty titles so today I'm using a favourite quote of mine. 
This might be a little bit of a random post. It just feels like ages since I have really updated on us. I really want to get back into blogging about my family and every day life. Sometimes I get so caught up in the every day things that I don't get a chance to write the things I want and should write about. I know I join in the blog hops when I can but it's not the same as blogging about family life - our every day life! 

Things here are going great! The kids and I have settled back into routine after the Easter holidays. We had a fab time over the Easter hols. I was a little worried it'd take forever to get back into routine but it hasn't, thankfully. 
Charlie wants to do an after school club but can't decide which one. He did football last year but I think he wants to try something different, he's leaning towards arts and crafts which is also homework club, too. Harry wants to get back into football club, he's my sporty child, anything to do with sport and he's well away. Bless him. Both the boys are doing great at school. Both have had certificates lately for maths/attendance and what not. Need to laminate, I might do those before I go to bed. I love to keep all there certificates which they have worked really hard to achieve. I'll display them on the fridge for a while and then put them in folders when they receive new ones, hehe. 
Ellie is doing fab, too! She's really settled back into school well after the Easter hols. She LOVES school. She's like a sponge, she absorbs everything and learns SO fast! She's started getting 'homework' from school now, bless her. She gets so excited and feels ever so grown up that she has to do homework. Wish my boys had her enthusiasm, lol. 

We planted some seeds last week! Some are starting to come out! Yay! Although my tomatoes really haven't done much =/ At least the marigolds (Ellies choice!) are growing well (I think the kiddos dropped too many seeds into the pot LOL, that's ok though easy sorted). I'll be re potting them they get a little bigger. The kiddos were chuffed when they saw that they were growing. Yay! Can't wait to plant them in the garden. I'm got some more seeds to plant this week, too! Im sure the kids will love to get digging into those, maybe tomorrow after school? We'll see. 


Lots of things to do before the summer holidays house wise. I really NEED to get this house in order. I've started saving up for my laminate flooring for the front room. I've seen the curtains I would like (that reminds me, must measure the window!) I also need to go thru and sort out some junk in the under the stairs cupboard, it seems to be my new hoarding space. Please tell me I am not the only one who has a 'junk cupboard' lol. I've also decided to put all my DVDs into a folder, the bookcase that holds all my books and DVDs takes up a lot of space and makes the front room look dark. I love my books and DVDs but I just.. I need the space! It's a shame to throw the cases away/put them on freecycle but am all about saving space as this house isn't very big. The books can go on a bookcase in my room (a smaller one) and some can go up in the loft, I can not bare to part with my books under any circumstances, lol.  There's a lot more that needs to be done but honestly, I'll be here all night telling you all.. and I'm sure you're bored already =p 

I've got an Neurologist appointment this week. Guess we'll find out if the pressure/fluid has built up around my brain again. I have been experiencing headaches but they could be (and have been in the past) worse. I really hope and pray I don't have to have another lumbar puncture, again. Not a nice experience at all. 

Anyway I have a few things to do before bed. Oh and I need to check instagram, haha, I am so addicted, lol.
