The Lost Smile by Joseph Coelho and Sheena Dempsy. review

The Lost Smile by Joseph Coelho and Sheena Dempsy and created by Wrigley. 'The Lost Smile' Is a beautiful children's book about a little boy named 'Kyle' who goes on the hunt for his families missing smiles. Kyle uses tools to help him find his families smiles, such as a magnifying glass and a toothbrush!

This book helps children to understand the importance of smiling and also has some tips on oral health from the oral health foundation and how to keep your teeth healthy and protect them.

Burnley Children's centre were also involved with this book . The children had the chance to hear the story being read from the author and also had the chance to draw some pictures of there own smile hunting tools which are included in the back of the book.

The book itself is beautifully illustrated and my eight year old daughter can read this book herself, which she is very proud of! The story is easy to understand and follow and certainly kept Ellie intrigued. The illustrations are just beautiful! There are 22 pages in this book.

"I really like this story, I hope Kyle finds all the smiles" She told me. Kyle looks under the bed where the fairies live and in the fridge... She was really excited to read this story and find out if Kyle does manage to find his families smiles!

"It's so funny that he searches in the fridge for the families smiles" Ellie giggled. She really loved Chester the cat who appears in the book, beautifully illustrated.
Kyle puts up posters in hope of finding the missing smiles...

Will Kyle find his families missing smiles?

The lost smile book review

My children and I talked about how important it is to look after your teeth. We also discussed how a smile is infectious and how important it is to smile! Don't you agree that children's smiles are infectious? I know that seeing my own children smile brightly, certainly makes me smile!
The concept behind this book is truly lovely - Getting children to understand the importance of smiling and looking after there teeth!

This is a brilliant book for children and even adults - The tips in the back of the book are very helpful indeed. It's a lovely book you can read together! It is really worth the money. The book is priced at £4.99 and all funds raised from this book are split 50/50 between the oral health foundation and Action for children charities. The Smile Back Project aims to protect children's smiles. You can find out more about this book and more information about the 'Smile Back Project' from Smile Back Wrigley.

    1. Yes same here!! I asked for one copy for review, one to giveaway. Postage would cost way too much otherwise.
