A couple of week ago, while the weather was actually quite warm and sunny, we decided to go for a walk in the woods! It was a really lovely, warm, summer evening so we thought we'd make the most of it! And I am really glad we did because the weather lately has been really wet and windy!

We really enjoy walking through the woodland! We're so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place in the countryside.

 I of course tried to take a photo of all three "little's" together but that's easier said than done, haha. My eldest isn't keen on having his photo taken but I did manage to snap this shot.




The boys love playing football! I do hope we have some more lovely summer evenings before summer is over! Fingers crossed.

The weather has been really wet and windy lately but that hasn't stopped us from going out in the rain. The boys were playing around a friends house and Ellie had her friend around but they were so bored being stuck inside so we decided, we wouldn't let the rain beat us, no! We ventured out in welly boots and winter coats for a splash in the puddles and a walk in the rain.



Ellie told me how much she enjoyed splashing in puddles and "I like muddy puddles best. A bit like peppa pig" Haha, trust her to like muddy puddles best. It all comes out in the wash though!


Summertime might almost be over, it doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the weather, whatever that might be. Rain, sun, hot or cold! We can still have fun outdoors!

It's a shame the boys weren't with us because I know they would have really enjoyed it, too but there is always next time! They did have a lovely time playing around there friends house though.
And it doesn't look like the bad weather is letting up anytime soon, so maybe we'll be able to all go, sooner than we think!

Yellow Moon sent us this lovely Gnome sewing kit to review. We really enjoy arts & crafts, especially ones we have never tried before!


The Gnome Sewing kits are aged 5 an upwards! They come in pack of two and each kit contains everything you need to make your very own cushion gnome, including, felt shapes, self-adhesive felt pieces, yarn, plastic needle and stuffing and they come in two designs.


Ellie could not wait to get sewing! We threaded the yarn through the plastic needle and put our two gnome shapes together and away she went (with a little help from me at times). The holes are already punched into the gnome felt shapes ready for the needle and yarn to be sewn through.

Ellie and Ellie sewed about three quarters around the gnome, leaving enough space to put the stuffing inside our gnome. Ellie really enjoyed doing this and filling her gnome with the soft stuffing.


 Once she had filled the gnome with stuffing, we carefully sewed the rest of him up! Which left us with a very stuffed gnome ready to decorate with the self adhesive felt stickers.


"This is really fun" Ellie told me "Hes going to look super duper cute when I've finished" Bless her. She found it easy enough to peel the shapes off and fit them into place on the gnome. 


"Aww, he is so cute and really bright" she declared proudly! The colours of the gnome are very bright and vibrant, which makes these sewing kits rather appealing to children. And of course she had to take him out in the garden because "That's where gnomes like it best" haha, so sweet. He is a very cute gnome indeed and Ellie is really proud that she made it herself! "He looks quite magical, too" she announced. And she's right, there something magical about gnomes, isn't there?


This is a lovely summer arts and crafts activity for children and would make a perfect group activity, too!

A photo of Harry in 2006, he was two years old. In less than eight weeks, he'll be twelve years old!

I miss my little's being little! They are growing so, so fast! I wish I could just freeze time, sometimes but it is also lovely watching them grow up, too. It's bittersweet.

I haven't posted a 'Look In My Letterbox' post because I haven't really had much come through it! I thought I'd save it up until I had a few bits to post. Some of these are freebies, others are not. I've been waiting a while for school uniform to come (and I am still waiting for a few bits) because it's that time of year, where everyone orders there school products, they seem to take a while to arrive! Anyway, here are the things I have received in the mail the past couple of week.

Firstly, I ordered this organiser for myself while they're in stock. Sprinkle of glitter (aka Louise - one of my favourite youtubers, she is awesome!) designed this herself and is now selling them! However, it doesn't start until January (seems like a long time away!) but I knew they would sell out fast, so I got mine now, ready for next year! And it was on sale, too! I got it for under £7, it's usually £9.99)  It's full of recipes, ideas and quotes... It's very inspiring indeed. I can not wait to start using it next year!!

It's hard back and has pink glittery writing on the front! It's also the perfect size to fit into my bag. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!  I could actually talk about this organiser all day... Maybe I'll write a separate blog post!


Secondly, I requested this 'Hold tight hand up' pack. It was a free! It's a little pack about how to stay safe, while having fun in the water. It's a great way to teach the kids how to stay safe in water, especially as we live right by a river! Not that they go anywhere near the water unattended but it's always good for them to know. Just incase. The stickers are awesome, they're holographic, which Ellie thinks is cool.


My friend sent me this really cute kitten card in the post. Isn't it adorable? I love cards, they always make my day! Especially cat cards... I love cats!


I also received a free washing detergent scope from Persil, which I requested a while back. This is handy, it'll help me put the right amount of detergent in the washing machine. It folds up lovely - so easy to store.


And of course, lets not forget the school uniform, ready for Harry to start high school in a couple of weeks. I have few 'back to school' posts coming up, so don't forget to look out for those, soon.

Look in my letterbox

One of my things to achieve on my 101 in 1001 days list, is to complete a whole 52 weeks of reasons to be cheerful and/or thankful. So I thought I would start this week and stick with it this time! It always makes me feel happier and more positive when I think of all the reasons to smile and be thankful, too! So here are the things that make me smile this week...

Firstly, I am so glad it's the summer holidays, I do like having the kids home with me and I also like the break from the school routine. I still can not believe that my eldest starts high school in a couple of weeks, that's just crazy.

I'm thankful that the kids have been really well behaved lately (Touch wood). They've had a lot of fun having picnics and playing outside in the fresh air! We've been to the park a few times and they've enjoyed some arts and crafts, too! I'm looking forward to enjoying (whats left of) summer with them.


I am also grateful that the weather has been a bit cooler recently. I am not a fan of the heat and I much prefer the cooler weather. I like it when I can wear a T.shirt and not be too hot or too cold. Perfect weather in my opinion! Lets make the most of it now before the cold weather comes :)

I thought I would share my top five apps for my iPhone 5 with my readers and followers. No one as asked me to write this post, I just wanted to share my favourite apps with the world :)
My phone is my favourite gadget and I would be totally lost without it. I can connect with my friends and family, I can check my email, blog and browse the web as well as take photos and even edit them on my smart phone. I really rely on my phone a lot more than I actually realise! So here are my top five favourite apps.
(Not including the camera, Facebook and Twiter - my most used apps - these are my favourite and most used!)  


1) My most favourite app at the moment is Periscope. Periscope is a live video streaming platform. I really enjoying seeing other parts of the world and I don't even have to move off my sofa. It's very fascinating seeing where other people live and famous land marks! Watching people's everyday lives and tours of different cities, New York probably being my favourite. It's also a great way to promote my blog and meet other bloggers! I have made a few friends on periscope. While I am camera shy, I have even scoped a few times myself! It is indeed free to download from the app store and is also available for android, too!

2) My next favourite app is obviously instagram, I love, love, love instagram. It's a photo sharing app and very easy to connect with friends and family. I also follow a lot of my favourite bloggers on instagram. It's another great way to promote my blog! I really enjoy sharing my photos and seeing other people's photos. Again, I have made quite a few friends via instagram and even found some old friends! It is free to download from the app store and is available on android.

3) My next favourite app is a photo editing app called "phonto". It's also free! And for a free app, let me tell you this is pretty amazing! I can make all kinds of cute images using phonto. It is so easy to use ut there are a few tutorials on youtube to get you started! Here's an image I made using phonto:

4) Cocoppa is my fourth favourite app. Cocoppa is an app that allows you to change the icons and wallpaper that matches the icons on iPhone. It also has downloadable themes and such, too! It's a great app. I love cusomising my phone to suit me. It's really easy to use but quite addictive, haha. I'm unsure if it's available for android but I dare say they'll be something similar!

5) My fifth favourite app is Snapchat. Snapchat is another app to share photos, videos and text!Snaps only last for 24 hours and then they're gone!  I really like snapchat and snapping random photos and 10 second videos to send to my friends and family. It's a fun way of connecting with people. My name on snapchat is Jelliekah if anyone would like to snapchat/follow me. Snapchat is also available on android!

We went to castle park for a picnic the other day. It's such a beautiful place to visit and one of our absolute favourite places to visit! I wish I had of taken my proper camera but phone photos are better than none! Enjoy :)



Aren't they all so beautiful? The flower displays and gardens in castle park truly are so pretty! Me and the little's loved the dragon flower beds!
