The primary school that my two youngest attend have a few Christmas activities coming up, disco, parties, Christmas dinner, Xmas jumper day etc and will be able to wear there festive outfits. Ellie doesn't wear dresses very often, so I am pleased she doesn't mind this tartan one.
The tartan dress Ellie is wearing is from Asda (last year, I believe they have similar this year) and the Christmas jumper is also from Asda (this year's collection). The antlers are from Asda too.

I feel I could have done a lot better with these pics but there's no natural light by the time we get back from school, it's almost dark! Maybe Ellie will let me take more photos at the weekend!

I also managed to snap a couple of Charlie, he really doesn't like posing for photos and was a bit tired but I got a couple, which is better than none. Charlie's Christmas T.shirt is from Asda and the ball on the end of Santa's hat flashes when you press it. Charlie thinks it's great! When I was in Asda, they didn't have any jumpers in Charlie's size so I'll have another look next week :)



Harry, being a (almost) teenager is deciding on whether or not he'll even wear a Christmas jumper! I have got him a Christmas top. He was too busy making an excuse not to have photos taken, haha. "doing homework". I'll get some pics of him another day :D

We are SO excited for Christmas. We can not wait to put our Christmas tree up and get ready for all the festivities that are (very fast) approaching.

I decided I'd write a post on all the good things and all the bad things of September. It's been a bit of a chaotic month to be honest with you. I do try to keep my blog positive and I know the positives will out weight the negatives! I've seen a lot of people write 'Best & Worst' posts and it's inspired me to do the same.


We started off September with the kids going back to school. Ellie starting in year 3, Charlie in year 6 -his final year of primary school- (Still can't believe that!) and Harry of course started high school! They are growing up SO fast! I can't express how proud of them I am. I truly am so, so proud. I'm really pleased to say they have settled in wonderfully. They are all doing wonderful at school (touch wood) and Harry is enjoying high school, although he isn't a fan of the early mornings! Who is though?



September was also the month that Ellie turned EIGHT years old. My youngest child. Eight years old. Madness. She had a lovely birthday! It was stressful for me, nothing went right on that day and it was a bit blah! Didn't help that I was coming down with a cold/flu type thing. The main thing is though, she had a fantastic Birthday and really enjoyed her little tea party and seeing friends and family. It was lovely!

I also have had a bit stress in my personal life going on but it's settled down now (again, touch wood!) and I'm relaxing a bit more. Anxiety has struck me a lot this month too but hopefully that's subsided now too. Anxiety is a horrible thing and I find it really hard to control and deal with. I've been reading a few blogs though and I know I'm not alone. It's just hard, you know?

  On a more positive note, we have really enjoyed the Autumn weather. The kids have been loving playing out in the garden and we've been on a couple of lovely walks! I watched a beautiful sunset (more than once!).

We have also enjoyed playing board games - mainly dog bingo, which is an awesome family game to play! That everyone loves. The little's enjoyed doing Autumnal arts & crafts, I may have joined in too, I'm such a big kid, haha.

Overall it hasn't been THAT bad of a month. Just a bit stressful here and there. I really do love this time of year and we have lots to look forward to in October! My eldest will be turning twelve years old! We have half term and Halloween to look forward to and of course the beautiful Autumnal weather.

Last week, my youngest daughter turned EIGHT years old. Yes, I can't quite believe it either. Where does time go? How do they grow up so fast? Crazy isn't it!


Ellie opened some of her cards and presents before school. She was super excited!

She went off to school quite happy and excited to hand out her sweet treats to her class mates and tell everyone that she got a Cayla doll for her Birthday! She had wanted a Cayla doll for a long time! You can imagine how pleased she was with her. Bless.


My sister and I spent the entire day baking cupcakes. All different flavours and decorations. Gosh, it took us literally ALL day. I think we made well over 50 cupcakes. The brownies and cookies didn't turn out so well (no idea why!) though.


After school, Ellie was excited to open more of her presents and cards & wait patiently for people to arrive for her little tea party! She had a little ride on her new bike while waiting for the party to begin. I'm so proud that Ellie rides her bike so well (no stabilizers!).


A couple of her school friends came around and we played some party games and had lots to eat!  Ellie was a little bit overwhelmed when it came to everyone singing happy Birthday, she cried all the way through it while snuggling into me, bless her. Everyone had a really fab time and enjoyed celebrating Ellie's 8th Birthday with us.
Overall she had a lovely Birthday! She enjoyed everyone's company, got some lovely gifts and was super tired by the end of the day. And I am so proud of her. I love watching her grow up and kind of hate it at the same time. It's bittersweet (I feel like I say that A LOT!)

Its really quite difficult to snap a photograph of all three children together. My eldest (Harry) is not a fan of having his photo taken, as you can see in this photo, he doesn't look very impressed! At least it's a photo of them all looking at the camera at the same time, right? None of them were expecting there photo to be taken, I just kind of snapped it while they were watching the T.V, haha. Those are the best kind of photos though - the unexpected ones (not that Harry would agree, lol)

Charlie.

Monday afternoon/early evening it suddenly went very dark and the sky was a bizarre colour. It was purple, pink and grey!


It was pouring down with rain & ever so windy.

Charlie was like "Is it the polo lips?" pointing up to the sky
I stood there baffled for a few seconds thinking 'Is the "polo lips" someone that's eaten too many polos and perhaps have white lips' but no, that doesn't quite fit with him pointing to the sky.

"Hmmm, polo lips??" I said baffled. And probably a puzzled look on my face.
"You know, like the end of the world?" Charlie informed me
"Ohhhhh, You mean apocalypse"
I couldn't help but chuckle, lol. 'Polo lips' bless him.
"That's what I said!" Charlie protested. 
"Naaah" I replied "Just a really unique sky and some windy, wet weather" I said to Charlie.
"It's not very likely the world will end anytime soon, if ever" I tried to explain...
Charlie looked thoughtful for a moment and then said "But the sky changed so quickly, it was sunny and bright now it's just weird" He said unconvinced.

We then went into an depth conversation about how the world wasn't gonna end and that it's just freaky weather. He wasn't worried.. he was just very fascinated! Wouldn't surprise me if Charlie becomes a weather man when he's older.

Then he realised it was his turn on XBOX and off he went.
Was a very random conversation to have with an eight year old. Sometimes he seems so much older than eight years old!

Bless him. Apparently he knows all about the 'polo lips' because his friends talk about it and it's been on T.V.

We've been having some really bizarre weather lately. One minute it's sunny and blue skies and the next?! It's cloudy, dull, windy and raining! Not as bad as some parts of the U.K. Wales for instance, has been hit bad by wind and rain, causing floods. I can not even imagine that. My heart goes out to all those affected by this dreadful weather.

I can't believe that my children are now in years 1, 4 and 5. Craziness. Time seems to go so fast these days. The kiddos are growing up sooooo fast. It feels a little bit surreal sometimes.

This morning was a bit chaotic. Ellie just didn't want to co operate, she was very grumpy as you can see in the pic but once we started to walking to school, she spotted some of her friends along the way and she was soon smiling and excited to be going back to school! She loves her new class teacher and was very excited to see all of her friends!
The boys were ever so excited! Especially Harry. He had missed his mates so much. We were early and all the parents and children were lined up outside the school gate, Harry soon spotted his group of friends and off he went. Apparently I can no longer give Harry a kiss or hug good bye because (and I quote) "it's embarrassing and I'm not a little kid anymore mum" He's none going on thirteen!! Charlie soon found his mate and they all walked into school together! Bless 'em.
They all really enjoyed there first day back and were really tired tonight, awww.
And If I'm honest I did enjoy the peace but oh my goodness, I missed them like crazy!! I was fifteen minutes early this afternoon, picking them up from school but I didn't mind waiting, I was eager to hear all about there first day back.

I apologise for lack of updating my blog this week. The end of the school year is coming up and things are MANIC. Well and truly busy! School discos, parties, appointments with teachers, baking cakes for school competitions (Alice in wonderland themed! I am NOT a baker, I suck at baking cakes lol. Different coloured cupcakes with flowers and maybe 'Alice in wonderland' or 'Mad Hatter' wrote on with icing pens, is ok though, yes?? Seriously I am lacking time, lol!), the usual chores, grocery shopping, laundry (Is it just me that seems to be constantly washing, hanging and folding clothes?!) the list is endless and I can't even think straight. I am SO tired. 

Roll on the end of half term. 

On a better note, the kids are so, so looking forward to there discos and end of term parties. Not to mention games day. They can't decide which board games they want to take in! They're also allowed to take in there favourite DVD. Ellie is so looking forward to her school disco. She gets to join the year ones in there disco session! So grown up. Both boys are pleased with the teachers that'll be teaching them in September. Yet to find out who'll be teaching Ellie though. 

there school reports are wonderful! I am SO proud of them all. They all have excellent reports (and attendance). I'm really excited for them. The last week at school is always fun and I know they're gonna have blast.

I can not believe how fast this last year has gone. This time last year Ellie was getting ready to go up to primary school and Charlie getting ready to join the junior school, Harry was looking forward to being in year four. It's mad that I'm going to be a mum of a year 1, year 4 and year 5 children. HOW did that even happen?! Lol. Time flies when your having fun... or rather just being a mum. 

Roll on the end of term. I am looking forward to chillaxing days with the kiddos in the sunshine :D

So lets see...
We'll start with Charlie. Last Sunday was Charlies 8th Birthday (I still can't over the fact that Charlie is now eight years old). He had a fab day. Filled with fun and presents! He came home from his dads in the afternoon and had a lovely roast dinner (his fave) followed by opening presents. His favourite present was his tablet. Second favourite was his pop up army tent. You can see the picture to the left, his face was a picture when he opened his tablet, he wasn't expecting it at all! LOL.
He enjoyed a lovely big chocolate cake with his borther sister and friends. Followed by Jelly and Ice cream. Sugar rush much?! But that's ok, it's what birthdays for, right?!
 Ellie has been busy with the end of term activities. Last week she had her first school trip to the beach. She had a wonderful time and was full of excitment telling me all about it, hehe. She's excited to be going up to year one in September. I think she has her induction to year one tomorrow or next Friday, I can't quite remember which. With so much going on it's hard to remember! We went for a lovely walk last weekend and found some wild daisies. Big daisies. Ellie loves flowers. Hehe. Ellie's picture should be to the right of this paragraph.
Harry's really been enjoying the sunshine. He's been playing lots of football with his friends and we've been to the park a few times. Harry is a very sporty, outdoorsy kid. He loves being outside. He's very excited about the end of term and being able to spend more time at home with me and more time playing football! Hehe. I can't get over how tall he is getting! Honestly, he'll be over taking me before I know it.  He doesn't like me taking his photo (to the left of this paragraph). So please forgive the poor quality, I had to zoom right in, lol.
