The best & worst lately.

09:54

Honestly, so far this year, it's been one thing after another and one illness after another. Lets start with the worst things lately.

I've been really poorly with like flu/cold thing. I had such a sore throat and my ears were blocked. Everything felt achy and it wasn't nice. I am however feeling a lot better now. Thank goodness. I suffer with a rare brain disease and have had a bit of a headache the last couple of days. Nothing bad and it has been much worse, it's just annoying more than anything.

Yesterday my camera decided it wasn't going to work and would keep freezing. I couldn't even turn it off because it had just completely froze. I managed to change the lens and that solved the problem, it works fine with another lens, it's a little noisy when I try to focus though. I'm super worried my camera is on it's way out. There is NO WAY I can afford another one. If anyone has had this problem with there DSLR camera, please do let me know if it's fixable. That camera was a gift and is honestly my pride and joy.

Anyway, lets not dwell on that, enough with the worst parts, let's focus on the good!

I am super proud of the kids, for many reasons which you can read about here.

The kids enjoyed some amazing pancakes on pancake day- I cheated and bought them already made because quite frankly, I didn't have the time to make my own. We make our own quite often though so it's no big deal. The kids enjoyed adding there own fillings. We had a strawberries blueberries, honey, syrup and chocolate sauce to choose from as well as the traditional lemon and sugar! Not the healthiest of choices but it's pancake day, you know? The fruit filled ones with a drizzle of honey were a HUGE hit! We're gonna make some more at the weekend and have banana filling, yum!

Its just two days until half term and the break will be more than welcome here. I've got no plans set in stone yet but we are hoping to visit a big park and spend lots of time outside in the fresh air, as long as the weather isn't horrendous that is. We're also hoping for a chilled out day, with movies and board games, arts and crafts and just general relaxing. We may get some things from our February bucket list ticked off, hehe.

We've spotted the first sign of spring! The daffodils are starting to shoot up from the ground. We've been seeing them everywhere we go! We are SO excited for the better weather ahead. Hoorah!

I've also taken up colouring! I got an adult coulring book and some markers for Christmas and hadn't had much of a chance to sit down and use them! I can officially say I'm addicted to colouring now, haha. It really does help me relax.

What are your best and worst parts of the week? What's made you happy lately?

  4. Bad bits....I've been ill with a cold since before Christmas, it seems to have got worse not better. I blame having to go outside and then coming in to a warm house, I can't seem to shift it...Although doesn't help that my little boy has got it too.

  14. I am totally with you on wishing Spring would hurry up with warmer days. I too am getting into colouring and picked up some of those adult colouring books in charity shops recently. Ever the bargain-hunter. I do find that it is when you have had yucky stuff going on that this linky is at its most powerful. Pancake Day seems to be lasting all week here with various filling experiments and favourites. Have yourself a lovely week

  16. Adult colouring has taken off in a big way. I work in a bookshop and we have about 50 different varieties and they are all really popular. I started doing it on maternity leave before it was "cool". It's a fun hobby.

  22. I like this idea of focusing on the best and the worst. So often the bad seem to outweigh the good until we look at it properly and then realise that there is so much good stuff to be grateful for
