Don't make excuses, make progress.

This loosing weight malarkey is so hard, I have been really, really struggling. Last week I weighed myself and I have only lost 6oz in eight days. I was so disappointed and felt like just giving up if I'm totally honest with you. I've been doing the thirty day shred (level one) and jogging/power walking (at least twice a week!) as well as at least 10,000 steps everyday and eating really healthy too. Except for Wednesday, I binged on ice lollies (really didn't help with the weight loss!) So you can imagine how frustrated I was to see that I'd only lost 6 ounces. I was not at all impressed. However, yes, it has been hot and I've skipped meals here and there because I hadn't felt much like eating. That probably didn't help either but I need to stop making excuses. I also think my stamina has got better and my body feels stronger. I could have lost inches rather than pounds but I also realise that my body has probably got use to doing what it's doing and I need to up the intensity. Maybe starting level 2 of the thirty day shred will help!

I am not going to give up, I am going to keep going, even if it's slow and a slow process to shift this weight, I will get there in the end, no mater how long it takes!!

  1. The half pound a week message is very true! I've been feeling frustrated about my slow weight loss too but actually, after a few weeks, my half pound losses have now added up to a few pounds lost. I guess we just need to accept we're in it for the long haul. Good luck and keep going!

  2. Indeed you will hun, keep going. I tend to think that losing weight fast is never a good thing, it'll only come back on just as easily. Losing weight the healthy way is the only way to ensure it will stay off. We all have our tough weeks, just know you can turn to friends for support if you need to. Good luck. xx #BloggingtoJogging

  3. The image you've shared is so true. I totally get that you want to see big numbers, but weight quickly lost is often quickly gained again. x

  4. My mate has started running and not lost much weight but the difference in her shape is amazing. Toned around her bum, sides and hips so it may be the same for you! Keep at it - it was roasting last week!!! xx #bloggingtojogging

  6. I'm really bad at skipping meals this time of year so I can sympathise, sometimes the way our clothes feel when wearing them say more than the numbers on the scales #bloggingtojogging

  9. Have to admit, I always preferred level 2 to level 1 of The Shred, I am sure you will notice a huge difference. Don't give up chick, it's just your body having a little rest. We have all been through the slumpy moments but you will get there! Sim #WeightLossWednesday xx

  10. It IS hard work loosing weight but remember the stuff you're doing (being active & eating healthy) has so many benefits over and above weight loss. You said you're feeling stronger and that's the thing to focus on during tough weeks. It's also worth rembering that muscle weighs more than fat so as you said it's perfectly possible to loose inches rather than numbers on the scales. Anyway good luck with it! Youre quote at the top is right, slow and steady weight loss still gets results! #fitnesstuesday

  11. Well as we both know lovely. those scales are our worst nightmare XD but what an above commenter said was true too, about her friend running and not losing weight but her shape has changed, that will be true for us also! never give up because we won't get anywhere if we do!

  12. Hang in there, you'll get weeks like this when very little or nothing comes off. However you'll still be burning off the internal fat around your organs which is far more important than the fat under your skin. Keep going, one day at a time xx

  13. I totally agree with that quote you've used and I think that steady weight loss has got to be healthier than a sudden and dramatic loss? Keep your chin up, keep doing what you're doing and you will get there! Thanks for linking with #BloggingToJogging xx
