The one where H turns 12 years old!
10:04I can't quite get my head around the fact that my eldest, my first born child is now officially twelve years old. Twelve years have passed and so much has happened in that time and yet it doesn't seem possible that it has actually be twelve years since he entered the world. It is so, so bittersweet watching him grow up. I miss him being a baby and depending on me and yet, at the same time, I love watching him grow up into a young adult and watching him achieve new things, learning new things and grow. I am so proud of him!
Harry opened a couple of gifts before school, only a couple of small ones though as there wasn't much time and we really wanted to save the main present until after school! He also had a lovely breakfast and we all wished him a very happy birthday and then off to school he went!
I didn't like the fact he had school on his Birthday. Before he started school, I'd give him a hug and a kiss at 9:35am as that's the time he was born and we'd sit and eat breakfast and watch a movie. Obviously now, he HAS to go school so we can't do that anymore, we'll have a nice breakfast and watch a movie as a family during half term next week though. He came home all bright and excited! Telling me about his day, his friends has bought him small gifts (sweets mainly) and cards & they seemed to make his day special at school, which I thought was really lovely of them.
He actually could not wait to get through the door that he FELL in the door as I turned the key, haha. We sat down and watched Harry open his presents, bless him.

Ahhh 12 really is a milestone year! My oldest turned 8 & that felt like a big birthday. Your son looks so happy with his pressies, a very happy birthday to your baby! #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your handsome son Harry. My mom used to do the same at the time that I was born, 10:46 AM. However, as I got older, she would call or text at that time if the call was not feasible. I still look forward to that. It looks like it was a great birthday! That's one of the millions of things that motherhood taught me already....day sure does fly. #MMWBH
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the last year of not being the mom of a teenager! Just kidding. Happy birthday to the handsome boy
ReplyDeleteAww! It looks like he had a great birthday....I think kids should be allowed their birthday off school. hehehe

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Your son looks so happy opening his presents:) I love the idea of opening pressies at the time you were born, yes shame school spoils that now:( I know I will be just like you when my boys grow up. Proud of them and loving watching them grow and yet sad they are no longer babies!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Harry :) I guess that having babies in the summer holidays has it's advantages as mine don't ever have to go to school on their birthdays, but the negative is not many turn up for their birthday parties.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. Happy birthday! It's mad how fast they grow isn't it :( xxxx
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your boy, the years fly by so fast!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I can't believe how fast three months (ha!) has gone by with my first, so only God knows what I'll be like when he's twelve! x #PoCoLo
ReplyDeleteHappy 12th birthday to Harry, it sounds like he had a lovely day with family and friends, I just can't believe how quick time goes by when you're a parent! I too don't like it when Spud has to go to school on his birthday, as he was born at 9:02am, but at least we get the rest of the day with them! The chocolate cake looks amazing and celebrations are my favourite chocolates, especially the maltesers! The last year of being a 'child', I hope it's a blast xx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't imagine having a 12 year old either! Time goes so fast! My girls are nearly four and I still feel like they were only born yesterday! Thanks for linking up to the #BinkyLinky

ReplyDeleteAh, you have more fun to come.My eldest is 13 and he's changed so much since he was 12,namely his attitude and his voice breaking. It does go past so fast, I'm bracing myself for when I have 3 teenagers.I hope he enjoyed his day and appreciates all his presents.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I have a son who is 20, two teenagers, two at primary school and one at nursery. When my eldest hit 12 and was at secondary school, I felt that things had really changed - he was growing up far too quickly and would be a teenager soon. Time goes too quickly when you're a mum.
ReplyDeleteAw Happy Birthday, Monkey is 3.5 I wondered where those years have gone hate to think what I am going to be like when he turns 12! Great that his friends made his Birthday special xx

ReplyDeleteAhh huge happy birthday! I always think 12 is a big age to turn as it feels more like a teenager than 11. And some kids move schools at that age and it's a huge milestone to go through. Looks like he had a great time. Thank you ever so much for linking up to Share With Me. I hope to see you again tomorrow for another great round up and hope you have been enjoying the blog hop. #sharewithme
