The one with the puddles.

A few times a week one of the kids will have an after school club which means we don't always have time to go outside to play. And also it's April.. and April showers come with April. We don't let either of those things stop us from enjoying whatever weather we can. When it was time to collect Charlie from his after school club. Ellie put on her rain jacket and welly boots and off we went! It was raining off and on and had been pouring down with rain all day, which means plenty of puddles to splash in on the way to collecting Charlie from school.
"I can't wait to jump in the big puddles!" Ellie said.
I tried to convince my (almost) teenager to join in jumping in puddles but he was like "Splashing in puddles is for kids" I wanted to say "YOU ARE A KID" But I didn't.. I would have been glared at like "WHAAAATTTT" So I said nothing, haha. Harry was also all "Please don't take my photo, my hair is a big mess" Haha. Typical teenager.
Ellie had a great time splashing in puddles and she coudn't quite believe how deep some of the puddles were! Ellie now calls April "Welly boot month" haha.
How are you enjoying April? I heard some parts of the U.K have even had snow! Which is rather crazy. I hope we have some drier weather soon, we want to go to the park for a picnic!

Ahh! How lovely! It looks like she had a great time...
ReplyDeleteMy teen thinks jumping in puddles is for kids too. Hmmf! x
It is so much fun splashing in puddles, you alway have to be prepared with wellies though x
ReplyDeleteWhen I was much younger I loved playing in the rain. It was so much fun, now I have to think about the hair clothes shoes - where did the fun go?? Glad she is having a good time. R
ReplyDeleteI wasn't to keen on getting dirty or wet as a child so can understand why your teen wasn't too keen.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Last year when visiting my grandchildren abroad we went on a walk and we all enjoyed jumping in puddles, so much fun. I can also remember my teenagers not wanting their photos taken because of their hair - thank you for bringing back so many happy memories.
ReplyDeleteApril has been such rubbish weather I can't wait for it to be over and see if we can get a little bit of sunshine. I can dream can't I?! x
ReplyDeleteWe had snow this week although sadly it didn't lay. Instead we've got arctic cold air - I wish summer would hurry up! #picknmix
ReplyDeleteLovely wellies! I used to love jumping in puddles when I was little & still give in to temptation sometimes if I'm out in the fields with my dogs.
ReplyDeleteAh this looks like great fun - I think splashing in puddles has no age limit hehe =) I love splashing in puddles with my toddler
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time. We had a bit of snow today. I was shocked when I woke up but the kids loved it!
ReplyDeleteI am in London and we have had snow/sleet twice this week! Splashing in puddles sounds very fun. Love the cute welly boots!
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat a good puddle! We have had much colder days recently - no snow though. Kaz x
ReplyDeleteGotta love a puddle, 10 years on and I still think of dawn french's clip in the Vicar of dibley.
ReplyDeletethis looks fun. I need to invest in a good pair of wellies for me and sylvia.
ReplyDeleteCan't beat A few good puddles when you have some decent Wellington boots, but I'd struggle to persuade my 12 year Olds now, unless it was to splash one another! #MagicMondays
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining me for Country Kids, I hoped you would. I hope you have had more sunshine this week too?
DeleteAww bless her, love it when such simple things make them so happy! Loving her wellies too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous wellies! I'd be all over jumping in puddles too with wellies like those! Hard to imagine there being puddles on the ground recently when you get a day like today with gorgeous sun! #WhateverTheWeather

This made me realize that I need to enjoy my son's childishness haha. Such fun photos though and I agree with calling April a welly boot month because it is! #pointshoot
ReplyDeleteEllie is so adventurous. I think every nearly teenager of Charlie is a bit like that - I know I was one. lol! But I'm sure Charlie will come round soon. x #WhateverTheWeather

ReplyDeleteHere in NZ we're heading into Autumn, so we are getting a fair bit of rain (and a lot of wind!) too. Gumboots and raincoats are must-haves for kids, mine love nothing better than getting their wet-weather gear on and rushing out to play in the rain. #happydayslinky
ReplyDeleteApril definitely is welly boot month. I'm glad you managed to find some family time out to do something so simple, but oh so fun!!! Typical teenagers thinking it's for kids haha. Wait till they're an adult, they'll be wishing they were kids again and desperate to jump in puddles. Thank you so much for sharing with #whatevertheweather xxx
ReplyDeleteCan't beat a bit of jumping in muddie puddles, My kids love it X #countrykids
ReplyDeleteThis looks great fun, we love rainy day puddle jumping! We were one of those who had snow last month and were a little annoyed as I had already put away the snowsuits! Glad May has started well so far! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather :) x
