I love having a bucket list because it gives us something to aim for.
It's no secret that I love taking photographs, so when I was asked if I'd like to review a personalised canvas from Canvas Design UK to review I of course could not wait!
Ordering the canvas is really simple and easy. I choose the photograph I wanted to use and uploaded it to the canvas design website. I choose a professional photograph of my daughter, 'Ellie'. You can also edit and customise your photo to suit you.
It was very easy to create and order. My canvas photo arrived a couple of days later wrapped in a cardboard package and wrapped in bubble wrap, to save it getting damaged!
48 hour postage and packaging is FREE!
My canvas is 20" wide and 14 inches high. Which is the measurements that best suit the picture I choose to have put on canvas. It's bright, eye catching and really stands out so well! I really do love it and so does everyone else who has seen it. The canvas is very good quality and is also reasonably priced too. The canvas' start at £7.99 and upwards.
As you can see in the picture, Ellie was so pleased to see herself on canvas!
If you would like to order a canvas from Canvas Designs UK you can enter the discount code BLOG15 at the checkout for 15% off the total order.

Mungo Monkey Has a Birthday Party is a beautifully illustrated children's book illustrated by Lydia Monk. It's the first in the series of highly collectable lift-the-flap which focuses on first experiences.
"It's Mungo Monkey's birthday party and
he can't sleep because he's so excited!
What will he wear? Who will he invite? What games will they play? Join in the fun by lifting the flaps and finding out what happens next.
Mungo Monkey is a new picture book pre-school series focusing
on first experiences by Lydia Monks, the award-winning illustrator
of Julia Donaldson's What the Ladybird Heard."
Ellie (aged 6) could not wait to read this book! She can even read some of it herself, which I think is rather impressive.
The story itself is all about Mungo's birthday and how excited Mungo is about the birthday party! It's a very simple, cute story. Ellie and I read the whole story together, she enjoyed reading some of the words herself. We found parts of this story quite humorous, Ellie giggled when Mungo woke up early and gave mum and dad a fright.
The book is beautifully illustrated. It's bright, colourful and very eye catching. We really loved the fact that there's lots of lift up flaps which kept Ellie interested in the book! I really like it because there is so much for little ones to join in with.
"The pictures are so bright" Ellie said.. "I really love all the flaps that lift up and the animals are really cute, too" Ellie declared. She thoroughly enjoyed this book and I can see it becoming a favourite of hers.
She loved the fact that it has flaps to lift up! There's so much to discover. "
We would recommend this book!
Five stars from us :)
Published: 6th March 2014.

We are very much looking forward to the next book in the series!

So my guilty pleasures just lately is chocolate. Especially M&M's and Wispa's. Yum! To be fair, I don't actually eat very much chocolate because I am trying to loose a few lbs.
No more chocolate for me for a while now though.
What are your guilty pleasures? Why not join up with the The Sticky Fingers Blog and join in the linky!

1. What’s your favourite post you have posted this past fortnight?
a windy trip to the seaside is my favourite post this fortnight. We've also been and fed the ducks, been to the park. Got chased by swans & had a picnic along the river bank! It's been a lovely half term.
2. Share with us a post you have loved reading from someone else this past fortnight.
It has to be Mama owls post 'What Am I doing' I can totally relate!
3. What TV shows are you enjoying at the moment?
The Walking Dead. Omg, I LOVE this T.V show so much... I seriously can't get enough of it! If a zombie apocalypse breaks out, I'm totally certain I could survive, haha.
I keep meaning to catch up with The Vampire Diaries, I am so behind on that show.
My favourite show though, has to be 'Call The Midwife' I wish I lived in the 1950's! I love the clothes, the way the community helps each other. It's so brilliantly acted and the props are awesome.
4. What are you most looking forward to about spring (or the next upcoming season)?
I can't wait for spring! Seriously can not wait! To be able to take the kids to the park and for walks along the beach. TO NOT GET SOAKING WET when picking the kids up from school! (Why does it always start pouring down just as I step out of the door to collect the kids. Every.Single.Time)
I also would like to plant some flowers and seeds in pots again, like I did last year. And to not have to put my heating on.. And hang the washing on the line. Ahh, I can not wait for spring!
5. What is your favourite type of blog post to read?
Honestly? I'll give anything a read! I do like reading every day life posts though & I don't mind a good debate.. I enjoy reading reviews, too!
This post is linked up with Life in a break down. / I love my round up!

Phew! It has been a busy half term and thankfully we had some really lovely weather! Lots of sunshine and blue skies and it was really quite mild, too, which meant we had plenty of time outside in the fresh air!
On Wednesday we went to feed the ducks & swans and for a nice walk. We actually ended up at the park. It was a good day.
First we went for a picnic along the river bank and admired the view. The tide was out but it was still a pretty view. Charlie was facinated with the boats! Across the other side of the water runs a train track, we saw many trains go past, too!
We walked along the river bank and there were so many swans, luckily we gave them the left overs of the picnic, Ellie was like "They're bigger than I am!!!" Haha, they are huge... and greedy, too, lol. They tried to take the food out of Charlies hand so we moved a long. They are such beautiful creatures. We crossed the road to the duc pond... the swans followed holding up the traffic and then proceeded to follow us thinking that we had more food, haha.
We walked around the corner, where there is a farm park but we didn't go in. None of us had welly boots and what not so we just admired the animals from the fence. We saw geese, chickens, horses and turkeys! Such fun. Across the road from the farm park is a park so we went and had fun on the park. Well, the kids did, I just sat on the bench taking photos and watching them have fun, hehe.
On the way back we stopped at the fish pond, which has a very pretty water fountain! We looked for the fish but couldn't see any. My guess is, it's the wrong time of year for fish lol. We'll go back again when the weather is warmer.
It was a great day! Lets hope spring is in the very near future so we can have more days like that!

I'm using up bits that are left in the freezer and cupboard. I still have tins/jars left from Christmas!!!
I also have tinned fruit left from Christmas that I want to use up so I have space in my cupboard for other things that we actually do need. Am I the only person who still has food left from Christmas? I need to use it all up so that I can budget better.
Monday - Battered sausage and chips with mushy peas. (Mushy peas left from xmas!)
Tuesday - Tuna and pasta bake with salad. (Tuna left from xmas!)
Wednesday - Home made meat balls with long spaghetti and french stick bread.
Thursday - Haddock fillets with new potatoes and peas.
Friday - Hot dogs in rolls with fries (Hot dogs left in cupboard form xmas!!)
Saturday - BBQ chicken salad.
Sunday - Toad in the hole with carrots, peas, mash potato and gravy.
It was a lovely sunny day yesterday. It was lovely to see the sun, it's been raining all week and ever so windy! It was still windy yesterday but not as bad as it has been. Ellie and I went for a walk along the seafront with my brother, sister in law and niece. It was lovely to get out but we weren't out long because it was cold and the wind was picking up again.
We were gonna look for shells but it was too cold and breezy. We went for a short walk on the beach and under the pier! Ellie found a ball that someone had obviously left... or that the wind had blown, lol. I took lots of photos of the waves. The waves were quite 'choppy' I certainly wouldn't want to be under the pier when the wind is bad, that's for sure lol. Ellie didn't seem to mind though. (The boy were at there dads btw)
After the beach, we went to the park for a little while. It was a little bit muddy but that's ok. Ellie had a good half an hour playing before she wanted to leave. We found some huge pine cones. We're gonna paint those another day, hehe.
It was lovely to get for a while. We have been coped up inside for what feels like months, not good! Hopefully we'll be able to go out and about this half term, as long as it's not windy and raining like it has been last week!
Roll on spring....

Shoplet UK sent me this cork and drywipe board to review.
It has a pine wooden frame and the board measures 600 x 400mm,
I like the fact that it's easy to hang and looks great on the wall! It's very handy to have, as it reminds me of everything I need to remember.Ha, I am so forgetful.
It's a good quality board and worth the money (£6.47). The pen is easy to write on the board with and it wipes off nice and easy too (I use a bit of kitchen roll to wipe the pen off). Overall I personally think it's a great noticeboard, I can pin all my letters/appointments and even post it notes to the cork side, as well as write important reminders on the drywipe board.
This is a very handy board for any busy family.
Shoplet sell a very wide selection of office stationary & promotional products, they even sell a good selection of promotional shirts; many other products, too which you can view on the website.

The other day I picked up a Valentines gingerbread biscuit set in Morrisons for £1.50 (ish. Can't remember the exact price but they were under £2). Containing four nice sized gingerbread hearts. A small pack of sprinkles and a pink icing pen.
Perfect for the kids!
The kids couldn't wait to start decorating them. And eating them, too! Yummy. We already had a good selection of sprinkles and icing pens left over from last time we did some baking and decorated digestive biscuits. The kids used the icing pen first and then added on the sprinkles/decorations of there choice onto there biscuits. Ellie liked the heart shaped ones best. Charlie loved the little silver and pink sugar balls and Harry wanted a bit of everything on his, lol.
The kiddies biscuits - Yum! |
When the kids had finished, they shook there biccies over there plates so that all the lose sprinkles fell off.
The little's really enjoyed decorating and then eating these! I think it's a lovely little activity and treat. It's cheap, too!

Monday afternoon/early evening it suddenly went very dark and the sky was a bizarre colour. It was purple, pink and grey!
It was pouring down with rain & ever so windy.
Charlie was like "Is it the polo lips?" pointing up to the sky
I stood there baffled for a few seconds thinking 'Is the "polo lips" someone that's eaten too many polos and perhaps have white lips' but no, that doesn't quite fit with him pointing to the sky.
"Hmmm, polo lips??" I said baffled. And probably a puzzled look on my face.
"You know, like the end of the world?" Charlie informed me
"Ohhhhh, You mean apocalypse"
I couldn't help but chuckle, lol. 'Polo lips' bless him.
"That's what I said!" Charlie protested.
"Naaah" I replied "Just a really unique sky and some windy, wet weather" I said to Charlie.
"It's not very likely the world will end anytime soon, if ever" I tried to explain...
Charlie looked thoughtful for a moment and then said "But the sky changed so quickly, it was sunny and bright now it's just weird" He said unconvinced.
We then went into an depth conversation about how the world wasn't gonna end and that it's just freaky weather. He wasn't worried.. he was just very fascinated! Wouldn't surprise me if Charlie becomes a weather man when he's older.
Then he realised it was his turn on XBOX and off he went.
Was a very random conversation to have with an eight year old. Sometimes he seems so much older than eight years old!
Bless him. Apparently he knows all about the 'polo lips' because his friends talk about it and it's been on T.V.
We've been having some really bizarre weather lately. One minute it's sunny and blue skies and the next?! It's cloudy, dull, windy and raining! Not as bad as some parts of the U.K. Wales for instance, has been hit bad by wind and rain, causing floods. I can not even imagine that. My heart goes out to all those affected by this dreadful weather.

We were sent a bottle of crazy soap shake & sparkle foam bath, crazy soap bath time foaming soap (green) and some crazy soap bath time body paint (blue). What a great way to add more fun to bath time. Crazy soap products are aged 3 years +
My three little's couldn't wait to try these products! Ellie was fascinated shaking the foam bath and watching it sparkle. She couldn't wait to put it in the bath. She was amazed at how the bubbles 'sparkled' She's such a typical girl these days, into anything glittery and sparkly, this foam bath was right up her street, hehe.
The foam bath is very glittery and it smells lovely! It's mild and gentle (as it states on the bottle!) and comes with a foam finger puppet, too! Perfect for playing with in the bath.
Ellie called her puppet Ally! |
Painting themselves blue! |
When it was Charlies turn in the bath he also said that it smelled really nice. He said it felt smooth and soft. He loved rubbing it into his hands and feeling the foam! Bless.
Ellie enjoyed trying to make shapes, she made a big heart shape and a house. "WOW I can even do arts and crafts in the bath" she said. Such good fun.
Foamy soap!! |
Overall we really love these crazy soap products, they make bath time fun, they smell amazing and they encourage kids to wash them selves!
Would the kids like to use these products again? Yes. Without a doubt.

The weather has been really lovely lately. Sunny and blue skies, we're really lucky to have such nice weather this time of year. It's quite mild, too! The boys even went out to play football after school today! All the kids in the street where playing on the green when the weather is nice. (There's a huge green/grass area in the middle of our street. It's perfectly safe & perfect for kids to play on). Maybe we'll go to the park one day after school if the weather stays this nice. Makes me think that spring isn't far away, however, I thought that last year and then we ended up with a month of snow!! I hope we don't get any snow this year. Of course, snow is great fun for the first day or so, but after that it's just a pain. It all turns to sludge and ice, yuck. I'm sure the littles would love some snow though, lol.
Ellie and Harry were both sent home from school one day last week, they had some kind of bug I think! It didn't last too long. I had a headache for five days, which totally sucked! Needless to say, I am trying to catch up on everything, including blogging. Apart from that though, everyone is all good.
Lotti our cat is finally looking more happier. I am so sure she was mourning/grieving after the loss of Lenni. She's much more cuddly now than she has EVER been, she's more... affectionate. She was always kind of a feisty cat with a bit of an attitude lol. She has certainly changed. She's more chilled out now. Bless her.
Well, I can hear those dishes calling my name. Oh, the joys, lol. I have washing to put away, too. I swear a woman's work is never done, lol. I hope to fit in some time for reading tonight!!

'Contents include 1.2kg air drying clay rolling pin modelling tool 12 x 2.3ml ceramic paints paintbrush and guide.'
My children couldn't wait to get stuck into this.
We laid out our newspaper to cover the table.
First rolled out our clay using the plastic rolling pin and then made a round pot shape. We smoothed the clay out using our fingers. Ellie thought that was great fun, hehe. Charlie wanted to add a bit of pattern to his pot using the plastic knife that's provided in the kit.
Harry and I made a 'coil pot' (instructions are included in the pottery kit)
I had to give the kids a bit of help cutting out the lid.
We also made a coil pot. We rolled out out 'snakes' (long sasuage shapes lol) and then stuck them together by pressing them gently into each other.
We left them to dry over night. After they are dry, it's time to paint them! We painted our pots using the the paints supplied in the kit. There's a lovely selection of colours, the kids couldn't decide which colours to use, so we painted out pots multicolored. A bit of each.
The kit itself is well worth £11:00, there's more than enough clay to make at least 4 medium sized pots. I really like the fact that not only instructions were included but picture instructions, too making it easy for the kids to follow! Overall this is a really brilliant arts and crafts activity for children. It's something different and unique and a wonderful introduction to clay. We had a fun afternoon making our pots! These are also a really cool keepsake.
"Not suitable for children under 36 months due to small component parts.
WARNING For children over 5 years only. For use under adult supervision"
