All the swans are swimming in the water... #CountryKids

Phew! It has been a busy half term and thankfully we had some really lovely weather! Lots of sunshine and blue skies and it was really quite mild, too, which meant we had plenty of time outside in the fresh air!
On Wednesday we went to feed the ducks & swans and for a nice walk. We actually ended up at the park. It was a good day.
First we went for a picnic along the river bank and admired the view. The tide was out but it was still a pretty view. Charlie was facinated with the boats! Across the other side of the water runs a train track, we saw many trains go past, too!

We walked along the river bank and there were so many swans, luckily we gave them the left overs of the picnic, Ellie was like "They're bigger than I am!!!" Haha, they are huge... and greedy, too, lol. They tried to take the food out of Charlies hand so we moved a long. They are such beautiful creatures. We crossed the road to the duc pond... the swans followed holding up the traffic and then proceeded to follow us thinking that we had more food, haha.

We walked around the corner, where there is a farm park but we didn't go in. None of us had welly boots and what not so we just admired the animals from the fence. We saw geese, chickens, horses and turkeys! Such fun. Across the road from the farm park is a park so we went and had fun on the park. Well, the kids did, I just sat on the bench taking photos and watching them have fun, hehe.
On the way back we stopped at the fish pond, which has a very pretty water fountain! We looked for the fish but couldn't see any. My guess is, it's the wrong time of year for fish lol. We'll go back again when the weather is warmer.

It was a great day! Lets hope spring is in the very near future so we can have more days like that!

  2. Swans are majestic but can be quite vicious - it sounds like you were lucky they wandered off! How great to be able to get out after all the bad weather and have some family time at the park. I'm glad you all had a great half term and thanks for linking up and sharing your fun with Country Kids.
