Here are my best and worst moments this week and things to look forward to.
Negatives:
- The EU referendum. I'm devastated that we're no longer going to be apart of the EU. I understand why people voted leave, I get it, I honestly do but I'm still allowed to be devastated. I love my country - U./K, I really, really do and I'm worried for the future. It's the not knowing perhaps?
- I don't blame people for voting leave.
- I have been suffering horrendously with insomnia and anxiety. It's worse than ever! And the humidity isn't helping. My anxiety got to a point where I didn't even want to leave the house - I had to of course. It's not as bad now, thankfully.
- My headaches and vision haven't been great! I haven't been able to read because of the blurred vision, the fluid has built up behind my eyes/brain again. Only a month until my neurologist appointment!
Positives:
- We went to an epic summer fete! The kids had a great time on the bouncy castles and rides! The boys found some of there school friends to hang around with & it was a great day out! The weather was amazing, yay!
- I had a nice catch up with my sister! It's always lovely to see her and spend time with her.
- I'm looking forward to E and C's sports day next week! I hope it's a nice day :)
- My eyes are a lot better! I hope I can start reading again soon. I miss reading sooooo much. I haven't read for about five days, eek!
- I'm getting back into blogging properly again now my eyes are a bit better.
- I'm loving my book blog. I really enjoy blogging about books!
What are your best and worst bits this week? Or, what are you looking forward to this week? :)

Linked up with Reasons To Be Cheerful
This Sunday just gone, our village held a summer fair/fete. We have already been to one summer fete, to celebrate the queens 90th Birthday but this one we couldn't miss as it's literally five minutes walk from our house! The kids were SO excited! Even my teenager was excited - No, he doesn't look it in the photos because , well, he's a teenager and his constant face is "I'm a moody teenager and I'll never look happy even though I am" haha.
We got to the fair and had a little wonder around first. The wrist bands were £3 each and lasted the whole day! Unlimited goes on rides and bouncy castles! That was an absolute bargain and without those, there's no way we'd have been able to afford it! We got an ice cream and then the boys spotted some friends from school. They went around in a big group and I kept my eye on them and wasn't far behind them. Harry would pretend he hadn't seen me and when I asked him to pose for picture I got the "I'm a grumpy teenager" look, haha. I promise, he was enjoying himself! Especially once he found some friends to hang around with.
I couldn't take many photos as I hadn't taken my camera (It was too hot to lug that around!) and my phone was -typically- dying.
They all had many, many goes on the inflatables and bouncy castles etc. Ellie liked the Disney themed ones best, haha. As the day went on, it get busier and busier so we got a drink and a snack from the surrounding burger bars and food stalls! Which was surprisingly actually not over priced. And the kids got one of those refillable beakers, which worked out so much cheaper in the long run because it was £1 to refill with a slush puppy and they lasted AGES! Usually I wouldn't be impressed with the prices but honestly, they weren't bad at all!
We listened to some live music. There was a girl group who were 50s inspired but sang modern songs 50's style! They were "EPIC" - Charlie's words!
We also watched the dog show which was cool and also funny because a couple of the dogs were so excited to see so many people and other dogs, they just ran around the course doing there own thing - So funny and SO sweet! I actually think that may have been part of the "act" because it worked well, haha. Ellie won a rubiks cube on one of the tombolia type stalls. Charlie and Harry both won a balloon.. Sadly Ellie's blew away. Which she was upset about when we got home, bless her. I told her I'd buy a pack of balloons this week. Bless her.
We stayed for a good few hours and then decided we'd come home and have pizza for dinner and prepare for school the next day! The kids slept SO well, they were all so tired.
It was a fab day!

The Lost Smile by Joseph Coelho and Sheena Dempsy and created by Wrigley. 'The Lost Smile' Is a beautiful children's book about a little boy named 'Kyle' who goes on the hunt for his families missing smiles. Kyle uses tools to help him find his families smiles, such as a magnifying glass and a toothbrush!
This book helps children to understand the importance of smiling and also has some tips on oral health from the oral health foundation and how to keep your teeth healthy and protect them.
Burnley Children's centre were also involved with this book . The children had the chance to hear the story being read from the author and also had the chance to draw some pictures of there own smile hunting tools which are included in the back of the book.
The book itself is beautifully illustrated and my eight year old daughter can read this book herself, which she is very proud of! The story is easy to understand and follow and certainly kept Ellie intrigued. The illustrations are just beautiful! There are 22 pages in this book.
"I really like this story, I hope Kyle finds all the smiles" She told me. Kyle looks under the bed where the fairies live and in the fridge... She was really excited to read this story and find out if Kyle does manage to find his families smiles!
"It's so funny that he searches in the fridge for the families smiles" Ellie giggled. She really loved Chester the cat who appears in the book, beautifully illustrated.
Kyle puts up posters in hope of finding the missing smiles...
Will Kyle find his families missing smiles?
My children and I talked about how important it is to look after your teeth. We also discussed how a smile is infectious and how important it is to smile! Don't you agree that children's smiles are infectious? I know that seeing my own children smile brightly, certainly makes me smile!
The concept behind this book is truly lovely - Getting children to understand the importance of smiling and looking after there teeth!
This is a brilliant book for children and even adults - The tips in the back of the book are very helpful indeed. It's a lovely book you can read together! It is really worth the money. The book is priced at £4.99 and all funds raised from this book are split 50/50 between the oral health foundation and Action for children charities. The Smile Back Project aims to protect children's smiles. You can find out more about this book and more information about the 'Smile Back Project' from Smile Back Wrigley.
I have ONE copy to giveaway, you can enter here.
We were sent a copy of this book for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own, honest, personal opinions. I was not paid for this post.
I got this idea from Northumberland Mum I really liked this tag and thought I'd join in, too.
1. Where Do You Blog?
Usually from my kitchen table or sofa and I have a little side table to put my laptop on. I don't have a desk area at the moment.
2. Where Do You Find Inspiration For Your Blog Posts?
I usually find inspiration from writing about my children, family and of course, other bloggers inspire me, too! Like with this tag post, hehe. I find joining in with linkys that have a theme inspires me, too!
3. How Long Does It Take You To Write a Blog Post?
Depends what kind of post it is. It can take anywhere between 15 minutes and 2+ hours! If I have lots of photos to edit and/or resize, it takes me a long time to do that. I put a lot of effort into my blog posts, sometimes I think I'm a little OCD with photos though.
4. Do You Plan Your Blog Posts? How?
Sometimes. When I'm organised, I schedule posts. June has not been an organised month.
5. What Kind of Camera Do You Use? What Editing Program?
Mostly my DSLR. It's a bit of a pain to lug around with me though, so I use my iPhone. If I edit photos, I use picmonkey online.
6. Do You Use a Notebook To Track Your Ideas?
Yes. And then when I'm in a blogging slump, I'll read over my notes in my notepad and the ideas I've jotted down. It helps to get me motivated and back into blogging!
7. How Do You Take Your Pictures?
Mostly just point and then take the photo. I do sometimes set up a little background or whatever.
8. What's Your Favourite Type of Blog Post to Write?
My Weekly bits and bobs posts. I love reflecting over the good and the bad bits of my week. I also remind myself of things to look forward to in these posts!
9. Who Knows About Your Blog?
Not many people in real life. I know my sister knows... I don't think she's ever asked me what my blog is about or called though. No one else knows - I don't think they'd get it to be honest. I quite like keeping it to myself - It's my own little world :)
10. Are You an Organised or a Messy Blogger?
Sometimes I can be very organised but during June, I've been quite messy. I don't really know why... Not having much time to sit and schedule posts is mainly the reason. I am going to try and be more organised though! I might have some time this weekend to schedule some posts perhaps?
11. Biggest Blogging Pet Peeve?
No offense intended!! The email pop ups or the section along the top of the blog that says 'Subscribe to my blog by email' but it takes up half the page! It only annoys me because it makes my computer freeze! Especially the "subscribe" or "Like us on Facebook" pop ups. I do totally understand and I have nothing against bloggers who have this option on there blog - It's a good idea! I think I just need a better laptop to be honest... maybe one day!

Gosh, time is really lying by! Ten days left of June!! Wow. There's a month left of school! That's just... crazy! Anyway, there's lots to be happy about this week. Here are our best and worst bits and bobs.
Negatives.
Positives.
Negatives.
- Unpredictable weather - What's new?! Hopefully we get some sunshine soon, we'd love to go for a picnic! Don't get me wrong, I love the rain and the cooler weather but when it's hot.. then it's cold.. sunny and then the next minute it rains. That drives me nuts, haha.
- Negative people treating me awfully. All I do is help people, I'm kind and caring and I honestly go out of my way sometimes just to have it all thrown back in my face. At least that's how it feels. Anyway I really don't need negative and toxic people in my life (or my kids lives). Dealing with it and pondering on it though, it's exhausting.
- I don't know why but I've just felt a bit.... Emotional and down the past few days. (Before the above happened).
Positives.
- I made a book blog! YAY! Which you can find here. I also made an Instagram account dedicated just for books. @The.BookHub I have found my love for books and reading again, which truly does make me SO happy. I really enjoy blogging about books, so much! Don't worry though, I'm still keeping this blog. I just didn't want my family focused blog taken over by books, haha. I have books on the brain, honestly!
- I can't believe I didn't write about this last week but... I saw a deer! Right out the back, by my back fence. You see, there's a huge field out the back of my garden and I've seen all kinds of wildlife - Pretty birds, mice and moles, voles even! Pheasants and bunnies but to see a deer?! It was SO lovely and made my day entirely. Luckily I had my phone in my hand and managed to snapchat some pics.. Sorry about the poor quality. Thankfully my friend could take screen shots as I forgot to save the photos/video.
- The kids have been behaving so well lately! They truly are very good kids. Yes, they have htere moments but they don't get into trouble or anything like that.I'm so proud of them. (Yes I know, I'm being boastful again but hey, I'm allowed, right?)
- I've been reading A LOT! I've read three books this week (One of which was shortish). Which is really good going. I've been staying up a lot later that I should but really, it's the only time I can get some good solid reading in. I've recently reviewed 'The Girl With No Past' which is a physiological thriller and it was really good! You can read my review here.
- Charlie & Ellie had there class photos today! I can't wait to see them, it's Charlie's last school photo from Primary school *sob*
- Oh and Ellie and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon along the river. We had a treat from the fish and chip shop! It was a lot of fun! Ellie even found a couple of Dr Sues books in the charity shop which she sat and read while we were waiting for the bus home. She's a proper little bookworm.. No idea where she gets it from *Whistles*
- Charlie has induction day next week - induction day at HIGH SCHOOL! I know!! How did that happen? How did time go so fast? I still can't believe my little 5lb 3oz baby will be starting high school in September. Madness. Still, I'm excited for him and it;s a huge milestone.
- Harry has a school trip coming up, a very exciting one, which he's excited about!
- Ellie has been practicing for sports day.. We're excited for that too!
- I'm looking forward the family fun day that's coming up this weekend, it should be good!
- I'm looking forward to football season being over! It's driving me nuts. The boys are OBSESSED! they even put England flag bunting up outside the house, bless them though! They're proper supporters.
A photo of a swan from when Ellie and I had a lovely lunch along the river. I love that we have a sandy river bank! And swans, for that matter! So very pretty.
Ellie and I had a little bit of time on our own today! The boys were fishing with there dad - Again! They love fishing a lot. So it gave Ellie and I a chance to have some time together. Which is always welcome :) We took a look around the shops. Ellie picked a couple of Dr Suess books from the charity shop, she adores books, just like I do! After we'd finished looking around the shop. I asked Ellie is she fancied some sausage and chips from the fish & chip shop, for lunch. She of course loved that idea! So that's what we did, we grabbed some lunch and sat along the river and had a lovely lunch whilst watching the boats and swans go by.
It's just around the corner and up a little from where I pet my sister for lunch the other day!
After Ellie had finished lunch, she played on the sand for a bit. I think it's lovely that there's a little bit of sand next to the river! "I wish it was sunny and warm" Ellie said. Still though, it didn't stop her having fun! There was a swan quite close by that kept watching Ellie, it was quite cute. (The swan was a good distance away)
Ellie and I had a good half an hour or more on the 'beach' (that isn't really a beach because it's a river, not an ocean) playing and drawing in the sand. And then the rain clouds came over and it looked like the heavens were about to open up at any minute! We headed for the bust stop.
The view from the bus stop is so pretty! There's also a bench, Ellie decided she was gong to read her new book while we waited! Thankfully the bust was on time and we only had a five minute wait! Phew. We got back home just as the rain started. We had a fab time though! Can't wait to do it again and next time we'll take the boys... Maybe we'll try some crabbing when the weather is warmer.
