Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz {Book Review}
10:50"This spooky addition to Alvin Schwartz's popular books on American folklore is filled with tales of eerie horror and dark revenge that will make you jump with fright. There is a story here for everyone -- skeletons with torn and tangled flesh who roam the earth; a ghost who takes revenge on her murderer; and a haunted house where every night a bloody head falls down the chimney. Stephen Gammell's splendidly creepy drawings perfectly capture the mood of more than two dozen scary stories -- and even scary songs -- all just right for reading alone or for telling aloud in the dark.If You Dare"
Genre: Horror/Children's/Fiction

This book has many short creepy, eerie, spooky stories in. All the stories are very short, some only being a couple of pages long. This book is perfect for young teenagers. I honestly didn't find these stories scary as such. There were a couple that were quite spooky and I was like "NO WAY". It's a very short book with only 128 pages and contains a lot of illustrations which are illustrated by Brett Helquist. One thing I really liked about this book is, it can be read aloud to an audience and it tell your how to tell the story. "NOW SCREAM" for instance as it makes the atmosphere more spooky. It also has some songs in the book, too! I think reading this book aloud, in the dark and sharing the stories with other people is a wonderful idea. Perfect for Halloween! My boys have asked to read this book, we're saving it for Halloween, hehe. I think these stories are perfect for children. If you're looking for a quick read or short stories, this is a good book to read! And like I said some of the stories are eerie and spooky. :)
I rated this book three stars.
