MR. MEN The Christmas Tree {Childrens book review}
09:10
Mr Men The Christmas tree is a childrens book, part of the "Mr. Men" collection. We own many of the Mr. Men books but not this one! 'Mr. Men The Christmas Tree' is by Roger Hargreaves and is illustrated by Adam Hargreaves.
"Mr. Forgetful is not at all good at remembering things, so it is hardly surprising that this Christmas he has forgotten to buy a tree. Christmas with no tree! Where will Father Christmas leave the presents?!
And so begins a very funny and forgetful tale of Christmas trees, presents, snow and a plump, jolly man who might just be able to save the day …"
This is a lovely story about how Mr Forgetful forgets to buy a Christmas tree. Where will Father Christmas leave the presents? Oh no! So, Mr forgetful ventures out into the forest to find a suitable Christmas tree that he can chop down. Oh dear, Mr. Forgetful forgets the axe! He ends up getting lost and forgets why he's even there in the first place.Father Christmas ends up coming to the rescue, he gives poor Mr. Forgetful a lift home followed by a present the shape of a.... CHRISTMAS TREE! After all, that is what Mr Forgetful wanted for Christmas!
My children loved this story! They are convinced father Christmas will always know what everyone wants for Christmas. After all, he certainly knew what Mr. Forgetful wanted! We always giggle our way thru Mr Men books, with the children asking many questions a long the way. We love the way the book is illustrated with simple, bright, colourful pictures and a great story to keep the children interested from beginning to end. We've read three times already! I can see this book becoming a new Christmas favourite, hehe.
My daughter now wants to take the book into school and share with all of her classmates at story time! What a great idea.
Five stars from us!
